Finished Egham 2-2 St Ives. St Ives winning 4-2 on penalties.

Egham and St Ives were both fairly well matched and to be honest I don't think they would be too much of a threat if either had been promoted.

Other game finished Royston 1-2 Rushden and Diamonds. From having seen Egham vs Rushden last week, despite Egham winning, AFC Rushden and Diamonds were the better team and I wouldn't be surprised if they were to win the play off final.

Central final Monday 2nd May

St Ives vs AFC Rushden and Diamonds

South and West final Monday 2nd May

Banbury vs Taunton

I'm sure promoted teams like St Ives and in particular Rushden and Diamonds will strengthen considerably if promoted, so we shouldn't go by current performances.

I'm more worried about how our team strengthens ! : - ]

Having said that we may now end up being pushed into the Ryman league ourselves

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KjAktcatdcOnFrLEmNpExvSqvOPXR9O-rzwxLHysqh8/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=0

look at columns P to T

This prediction would say we would move over to the Ryman, but until the play offs are finished and the leagues make up their mind, who knows.

edit - this is a live excel spreadsheet and the creator has since decided Kings Lynn would now be moved to the Ryman League.

Kings Lynn moved to our league last summer and I believe that when a club moves they can't be swapped for another 2 years so they stay in Southern for next season.

It's been quite hard to find the rules for club movements between leagues but this is the best thing I could find

6. The Movement of Clubs within the National League System other than by Promotion or Relegation

6.1 Movement of a Club from participation in one League to another is not permitted other than by promotion and relegation or otherwise as set out in League Rules save with the approval of the LC.

It may be necessary from time to time to move Clubs laterally at the same Step. The LC shall determine any lateral movement of Clubs at the same Step by (a) promotion or relegation and ( B) to enhance or maintain the strength of individual Leagues/Divisions. Prior to making a decision to move a Club or Clubs laterally, the LC shall consult with the Clubs and Leagues involved. Any decision shall be final and binding subject only to Arbitration in accordance with FA Rule K.

In coming to its decision the LC will have regard to any representations made by any party, the distance to be travelled by any Club to be moved compared to the distance travelled in the Playing Season prior to movement; the financial impact on the Club to be moved, the frequency with which the Club has been moved in the past; the number of Clubs both in the division to which the Club is to be moved and in the division from which the Club is moved, and any other matter that it considers to be relevant.

This was from the FA standardised membership rules 2014/15 document.

Kings Lynn was probably my favourite jolly up of the season but it's a long old poke! When you have them and Bideford in the same league at this level something has gone wrong somewhere.

When it comes to the composition of Slough's league next year, I look at it purely in terms of away day drinking. With that in mind, let's all hope Taunton wallop Banbury.
