Graham Cox
An ok season with a better finish probably made harder by some unexpected departures at the wrong time. So thanks to the management and staff for lots of work throughout the season...........we do appreciate it despite some of our moans. To those players staying, thanks and see you soon and to those who will not be with us next season, thanks for all your efforts and good luck for the future. For our future, we have a new ground to look forward to, hopefully enhanced support and real progress on the pitch. Happy Summer everyone ! Reading Rebel
Agree with your sentiments Graham. Who could have predicted having our forward line decimated with the Ed Smith saga, Charlie Mpi getting a new job abroad and Scott Harris missing our last two games. Bit premature but I would like to add welcome to our new players whoever you are
Irishadrian
In a lot of ways next seasons success or otherwise will be determined before a ball is kicked andI wish the lads every success in recruiting the targets they have selected This last season was a very strange one If you produce a table based only on results against teams finishing 1-8 we came 20th against teams finishing 9-16 we came 4th!! But against the poorest teams 18-24(Omitting ourselves) we came 21st never any consistency.

Vs 1-6 picked up 5 points with -19 goal difference Vs 7-12 picked up 22 points with +6 goal difference Vs 13-18 (10 games) picked up 14 points with -1 goal difference Vs 19-24 picked up 16 points with +4 goal difference. Possible 36 points against each group (30 in the 13-18 group)
staines_rebel_Jr
This season we have done quite well at home picking up 39 points but feel there is still room for improvement and with having a 3G pitch next year which will guarantee a flat playing surface I expect that we will do better as it will suit our play better. I would also expect more entertaining football with a slicker more predictable surface. We really need to improve our away performances though. 18 points from 23 games is not good enough. We will most likely have a much larger budget next season considering we wont be paying Beaconsfield rent and we should be getting bigger gates, especially the first few games. Also think we should consider doing "pay what you want" matches like Hitchin have done this season, as every time they have done so they have had bumper crowds. Next season will be much more exciting than this season an I can't wait.
David Carpenter
Whilst we will not be paying Beaconsfield rent it must be that SBC will be charging for the use of the new facility? Whatever exciting times ahead.
HorshamRebel
With no knowledge of what we were paying Beaconsfield in rent, or what we will end up paying SBC, the one thing I definitely know, is that the SBC payments will either be less, the same, OR MORE. So we may be better off, or worse off when it comes to the "rent" side of thongs, and only the people involved will know how that pans out. So we can not assume that we will be better off, although we will have much bigger gates for the first few home games before it dies down to the new consistent every match number. But definitely better times ahead. Can't wait

Can't wait I'd like to think Slough Borough Council will be reasonable when it comes to what they charge for Slough Town FC, as surely it's about helping each other out but that could be wishful thinking ! By the way, HR, how much will SBC rent thongs for? he he ho ho !

By the way, HR, how much will SBC rent thongs for? he he ho ho ! The discussion between Steve Easterbrook and SBC about the rent on Arbour Park must have taken place by now. Our managers are in full swing with player recruitment for next season so you would think that they have been given a budget to work with. How much rent we pay at Arbour Park will surely be a major factor in how much the playing budget is for next season.
Curtis
I would think the key factor around playing budget would be forecast attendances/ticket sales..... a good way to help the club plan for next season would probably be purchasing a season ticket (how many season tickets were sold last season and can we aim to beat that by a significant amount for our first season in the new ground).
