Do two teams go up from SSMFL premier or only one this year?

Recommended Posts

Once again, red tape and bureaucratic nonsense! The FA stand by and do nothing to improve grass roots football. When you think about the amount of money being dished out in the Premier league it makes you wonder.

Clubs outside of the Conference with ambition, reasonable facilities and in a position to gain a promotion through hard work and endeavour both on and off the pitch (by Volunteers who by the way put their own hard earned cash into improving things), should without question be given the support and backing by the FA to do so.

Instead of spending money on Respect bibs, Referee assessors and writing nonsensical rules about two standing, etc, etc..........A new wave and perspective needs to be applied to ensure all clubs have that support and opportunity to progress.

Winning a league, finishing runners up is a great achievement over 40,42 games and that achievement should be recognised and rewarded.

All this bull about a lack of woman's toilets, non electrical turnstiles, extra stands, more seats......is just utter drivel!

You're clearly a muppet, London Colney did nothing? Aprat from Build 2 Turnstiles install 2 electric entrance gates, Put up a new stand behind the bottom goal, outside ladies and gents toilets installed and a partition in the clubhouse for food tot be served outside!!!

Sounds like nothing!!! But good to hear the tweak you made worked - Good Luck playing at ware next year

In my opinion. If as a club you have serious ambitions to get promoted, part of the planning process in pre season should be to asses the gaps in regards to ground gradings and have a plan to have all works completed in good time.

When I was part of the squad that won the league with Rayners Lane and the club didn't have the desire to ensure it got promoted it surely defeats the purpose and the wonder of playing in the football pyramid. And it's utterly defeating for the players as well.

If you fluke a top position in the league then I think the counter argument is the FA need to provide subsidies for grass roots clubs especially when it comes to ground improvements. Denying promotion in April because of no toilet is buerocrasy gone mad. This is easily achievable by September. It's not like they need lights or anything with planning permission

You would think you could get promoted on the current F grading and then upgrade the ground over the next year. This would save all the last minute money being wasted if you do not get promoted. Its is about time that League and Clubs stood up to the FA and tell them what it is like really like to go through all of this nonsense.

Makes sense but you would need a 'penalty' for non-compliance this following season. However, you can image the 'uproar' on this forum if team A were promoted on this basis, finished in the top three, or even the top half of the table, but were relegated because they hadn't completed the ground improvements.

From the minutes of last committee meeting.

Two notifications of withdrawal from the League had been received from Wolverton Town (Division 2) and Baldock Town Reserves and Wolverton Town Reserves.

It was agreed to recommend the acceptance of Tring Town, Hemel Hempstead Reserves and Enfield Borough into Division 2.

Biggleswade FC, who ground share at Biggleswade Town, had applied to enter at

Step 6. Both the club and League representatives have been called to the FA on 19 April.

Hadley Wood & Wingate have also applied to enter at Step 6 as they are possible promotion candidates from the Herts County League.

Rayners Lane have once again made representation to the FA for a sideways move from the Hellenic League. As yet, there was no news of a decision.

Cricklewood Wanderers (members of the Middlesex County League) had applied to the FA for promotion to Step 6. Cricklewood ground share with Wembley but are out of the running for promotion.

AFC Hillgate had expressed their wish to be considered for promotion to Division 1.

Other Division 2 applications.

Ealing Town had been instructed to settle their financial debt from last season before any consideration could made; an inspection of facilities had been made at Tokyngton Harvest where there were a number of reservations while MK Galatico had facilities meeting Step 7 requirements but were waiting for an agreement with Hertsmere Leisure for a lease of the ground. application received shortly before the meeting from Unite MK FC who will play at Manor Fields in Milton Keynes would be reviewed at a later date, together with other applications, when the final number of clubs competing in Division 2 has been confirmed.
