successful fa ground inspection for Hoddesdon

I think the term was in use long before the aforementioned author borrowed it for the title of his book which tells the story of the author's relationship with football and with Arsenal Football Club, in particular, consisting of several chapters in chronological order, from the time the author first became a football fan as a child, until his early thirties.

So nothing.....

I'm not sure five days later can be counted as 'imminent'.....

And given the number of Woodford Town games postponed this season, look out for a backlog in fixtures in twelve months time!!

We haven't even considered that. Thank god you're here..!!

So do Hoddesdon Town FC need to have priority of fixtures at wodson park, (in the event that they win the SSML) to attain promotion to step 4 ?

As Ware are the higher in the pyramid they would have priority

If Hoddesdon get promoted, I'm hoping we will have our own ground by then, either a new build or an arrangement at Lowfield

If that's the case (and it would be the best option for all concerned), why ground-share at Ware - or are the two options you outline fairly unlikely (in the next twelve months) in your view?

Hoddesdon will be at ware as long as it takes to find a new ground in Hoddesdon, or if the football club and cricket can come to an arrangement that suits both at lowfield

Three or four years ago, there were plans for a ground to be built (as part of a housing development) for Hoddesdon Cricket Club, leaving HTFC as the sole tenants at Lowfield.

Is that plan still a possibility?

To answer your questions, in the event that we finish in a promotion place next season (we can hope!) at least we would be able to go up by way of the fact we have a season under our belts at Ware and can therefore play there for the purpose of promotion. Ideally after 24-36 months, we will have built a new ground OR, as Dan states, sorted out the issues at Lowfield, in consultation with the council and the cricket club.

There was a suggestion of the CC moving to a new development but I think the realisation of having to run a facility for 12 months of the year became a bit of a daunting task for them, with only a small, and aging committee, and therefore very quickly became a non starter.

I am gutted that the team has to move out of the borough to play its league games and I can only hope that the council and both committees work hard to right this wrong and realise that it should never have come to this. I can only live in hope but I won't hold my breath as personal grudges and point scoring has been the priority for the last 15 years, rather than mending relationships for the good of sport in Hoddesdon and community wellbeing.

In the meantime, I applaud the FC for remaining ambitious and putting a plan in place to achieve promotion should we finish top of the pile. If we were looking to be a mid table team, we wouldn't be moving to Ware. However, I look forward to returning to Lowfield ASAP, or finding a new home within the borough that allows us to realise our ambitions.

The reserves will continue to play at Lowfield, and the first team cup games will also take place there. I would imagine the club will also look to bring in a Saturday team to share the pitch at Lowfield, to offset the cost of playing at aware across the next 2-3 seasons.

Time to be positive now and build for next season. Can't wait to get started.
