successful fa ground inspection for Hoddesdon

Recommended Posts

Successful visit or not, Hoddy have not been given the grading and it seems the deadline has passed.

Think Roger's just trying to prove to everyone involved that their efforts weren't wasted this season.

All seems rather inconsequential now anyway, given Hoddy's drop in form and Dunstable's metronomic point gaining machine.

Hoddy are definitely a club moving in the right direction though. How quickly they get there depends on how many more hurdles are thrown in front of them.

I wish i could tell you more, but as you know, I stood down from the committee a while back and no longer involve myself in politics, preferring to concentrate on football. You could say I'm not "in the loop"....

So you're "...I'm sure an announcement is imminent..." comment was just pure speculation?

doesn't matter if it's 5p a point, it's still a waste of money if they're not going up. No matter how big or small.

London colney pay minimal expenses. And have done since they were in division 1which they eventually won by 15 points it was never the main ambition of the club to be promoted to southern league but having taken 4 seasons or so to build a side capable of challenging for the title the amount of money it has cost has not increased significantly ,so I fail to see how money has been wasted, the fact that Colney could win the league. And not get promoted is a blow to all involved.the playing budget at the moment is no more than when Julian Robinson was manager 6years ago.

My overall point, which keeps being missed by over-sensitive LC chaps, is that in my opinion (which I am allowed!!) ssml players shouldn't be paid. I can only (kind of) understand it if they're trying to get out of the league. In light of this ground grade failure, and IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, LC have wasted there money.

PS. We all know they put a little bit more in the pot this season, hoping for promotion. (Exhibit A - last season's top scorer - Armitt)

Good win for Harefield at the weekend....that darn fixture backlog ey!!!

Take nothing away from Harefield from the weekend.  simple problem for LC was it was all a bit too easy, complacency and not defending set prices - Bad day at the office, we all have them!!!

Harefield had 3 chances and scored 3 goals well done and in my opinion its to good a club to be relegated! The back log starts this week, so only excuse we have is missing 6 normal starting players.

More chance of seeing Lord Lucan than me at a Hoddesdon Town game

Karen, for the record, you are always welcome at Lowfield. If you choose not to visit, that's up to you, but nobody can tell you you're not welcome. Just do what I do and ignore those that you don't have time for!! It's worked for me this season!!

Incorrect. Lowfield was given to the people of Hoddesdon, by the Barclay Family. Hoddesdon Town FC are tenants and do not own the land. There is also a public right of way from the Beech Walk end.

Poor from you...

Notes to self:

1. Jonno can post incorrect / misleading information on this forum "...I'm sure an announcement is imminent...", but gets upset when others do the same "...only the Committee can say you are always welcome at Lowfield...", and

2. Find 'Right of Way' and insist upon being able to use it between 3:00pm and 5:00pm on a Saturday. Maybe this is another 'stumbling block' in the Ground Grading Application?
