SeasideTowner
For those on here that don't use Facebook, Ryan is hanging up his boots and leaving the club due to work and family commitments. Gutted when I heard, a real Town Legend !
OldTowner
Great shame......a true Towner who will be missed. Work and Family ( or other way round ) come first. Best wishes Ryan.
Tom S
An annoying so and so when playing against us - just ask Andy Jones (those who were at Brentwood that day will know what I mean) - but the type of guy you want on your team. Good luck Ryan and thanks for everything.
lovely stuff
Great shame......a true Towner who will be missed. Work and Family ( or other way round ) come first. Best wishes Ryan. A lot of ex-players regret finishing football early. Not many regret playing for as long as they were able too.You are a long time retired.
OldTowner
LS, the guy has a choice, keep his job and move abroad, or be unemployed with a family but play football when selected. Regretfully for Towners, it's a no brainier
lovely stuff
That is totally understandable then.Didn't realize they were the circumstances. My slight gripe earlier was that the wording could have suggested that other players choosing to carry on playing football were not as committed to their family and career. But all resolved. Ps..Was Ryan's last goal for Town the header where he bravely took a hit from the keeper in order to score?
thecoldend
His goal celebration v Leatherhead last season when my boy was mascot was legendry.... "Dad....Doyley just drunk the beer"
1F in Enfield
Over the past few seasons 2 moments stick in my mind. The celebration after the goal against leatherhead mentioned above and the winner against cray wanderers to keep us in the league. Both involve Doyle. You will be missed! All the best. AnfieldTowner
Good luck to you Ryan - I hope you manage to find time for football again soon, wherever you're going to be. 10, often crucial, goals in 108 appearances for ETFC is a record of which you can be rightfully proud. A natural leader on the pitch, you brought a lot to our club and my abiding memory will be of you at the head of the celebrations on the pitch after that match at Hitchin.
