cup of tea
What a vital win. I think we had the better of both halves, although Brightlingsea did have their chances. Was it a pen? yes is my opinion. Well taken by George and David Knight hit a cracking second. Brightlingsea hit the post first half and had a ball cleared off the line in the second. With other results going our way, it was a good Saturday. Lots of energy from Tam today, and some good performances all around. Well done to everyone
urchinman1961
Lady luck looked over us for once bitty sort of game but we looked a different side once the pen went in and yes George was flattened second goal would not have looked out of place in la liga a welcome win and our playoff fate is in our hands now
bridgefan
Phew, glad to get 3 points. Plenty of effort exhibited but not much or consistent structure to our play. Thought the defence did well (as they often do - we have by far the best defensive record in the division having conceded only 33 goals in 42 games). What a goal from David Knight Knight Knight. All in all they were marginally worse than us. The predicted final table (on FWP) has us finishing 5th by way of 3 1-0 wins followed by a 1-1 v. Bury on the final day. That would see this season's ride on the Hornchurch rollercoaster finishing with another play off experience. Let's hope so.
cup of tea
Interesting games tonight - Thurrock v Cray and Bury v Harlow. If both Harlow and Thurrock fail to win tonight, Sudbury will be champions Also, Thamesmead could overtake us into 5th tonight but they would have to win 0-29! Miss.A.F.C.Hornchurch
See there is some Muppet from brightlingsea on twitter hoping we slip up on Saturday. Think he's being sour and bitter from losing against us last weekend. Bless!!
cup of tea
Brightlingsea are probably out of it now, I can't see them overtaking 3 teams for the last playoff place with only 3 games left to play especially as two of them have a game in hand (we've got the added bonus of the best goal difference in the league as well). They needed to beat us really. Cheshunt are the team I'm worried about.
The Hatted Urchin
It'll all be moot when we get 3 out of 3 this week. My presence will make it so. (Ignores last year where I relegated us)
Wivenhoe Urchin
It's probably the same bloke that said see you next season as he walked past us. Sour grapes really, they've got a good team but have screwed up.

YELLOW
It's probably the same bloke that said see you next season as he walked past us. Sour grapes really, they've got a good team but have screwed up. I wonder if he was watching Brightlingsea when they were playing in the Essex and Suffolk border league in front of barely 2 or 3 people 4 or 5 years ago. I seriously doubt it!!
