Well took a while to get going tonight but all alright in the end.

 

First half looked fairly disjointed, and we created very little but once Lee Boylan volleyed us in front from a corner in the opening 15 minutes of the second half we started to relax and play some good football.

 

J.K scored a great second goal, firing a low first time shot through a crowd of players from the edge of the area.

 

A great cross from sub Junior McDougald found Greggors unmarked at the far post for a simple tap in for number three and it certainly could have been more as bad finishing and some good keeping kept the score down.

 

Bognor rallied in the last few moments and after Potter made a brilliant close range save, they scored a consolation in stoppage time.

 

In the end we managed to play some good football but made hard work of it against stubborn but very ordinary opponents. Bognor certainly looked better when they got the ball on the floor and passed it about but they didn't really do enough of this.

 

In the end a job well done and we remain seven points clear at the top.

Just wondering - What other players do we have that are available to play where Midgley does?

 

It seems he hasnt been playing too great, and the team are relying around him too much, when he cant supply the goods <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />.

 

Seems he's never subbed, do we even have a replacement for him?

We have got a replacement for Midgley. Move J.K to the right wing and bring Dobbo into the middle. Failing that switch Duffers to the right and play either Ty or Parms on the left. There is also Scott Forbes!

 

Crowd I thought was quite lively tonight. The Bognor fans were pretty mouthy, all 10 of them! <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> I noticed they shut up in the second half!

I thought our crosses were very weak in the first half, but when we got the ball on the floor and knocked it around our class showed. I never ever thought we would not win in fact I thought if we got one we would bash em.

According to a relative who knows Scott Forbes personally, hes recovering from an injury.

 

Dont know any truth from this but it'd be great to see him play again, and personally he's top of my list over Midgley!

Took a while to break them down but i`d say just about the right scoreline in the end,plus no bookings and no injuries as far as i know.

Good result for the Gulls but a bit disappointing that we conceded a very late goal again.

 

Mind you the Bognor manager was demented after the game - he was screaming at his players for about 10 minutes in the dressing room "f***ing this. f***ing that" You could probably hear him in the bar

I have just read their version of the game. The Rocks match report is a total joke, talk about being biased. It reads that they were hard done-by and the score flattered Canvey!!

They also think that we have a chip on our shoulders because we haven't been promoted yet!! Oh and we give the impression that we are too good for this League - mind, they could be right there, if we are still at #1 come the end of season.

If it's the Official site, they most likely have to suck up to the Club and try an make them sound as good as possible while bending the truth about how they lost the game.
