Brentwood Town v Enfield Town - match fred

Tally Ho

Well done to Town on winning this tricky fixture today. Be very interested to hear the thoughts of Towners who were at the match this afternoon.

With Thursday night in mind, I popped over to Bognor today to see them play Burgess Hill at Nyewood Lane. They are unbeaten in the Ryman Premier Division since the 19th December, when they lost 0-2 away to Billericay, and they did extremely well to reach the Semi Final of the FA Trophy, before eventually going out 3-1 on aggregate to Grimsby Town. Their success has caused a backlog of fixtures, but so far they have coped quite well, and look well placed for a playoff position.

I am looking forward to seeing Thursday evenings match, which I believe will be a very close affair. The Rocks are a young, hardworking side, who have plenty of pace,  break very quickly, and have a very dangerous front man in Jason Prior, who we will need to watch very closely. He scored twice again today. We should be in for a very exciting match, which will certainly test the credentials of both sides. Don't miss it ...it will be a cracker ..see you there!

Another borefest to be honest but 3 points are 3 points. We were marginally better than another poor team in what has been in my opinion, a very poor league this season. Only positive about today was the full debut of Immed Kartita ( only 16 so I heard ) looks like he could be a very good player. Good on the ball and aways wants it.

The battle at Brentwood is partly opposition partly pitch. The pre match/night/day rain made the surface very slippery in areas. Biggy in other areas and firm in the middle section. The force of the wind played games with the ball too, add to that 2 bruising games in 3 days against a play off rival and a team scraping for survival, yesterday could've been a banana skin waiting to slip us up.

Corey was yet again our inspiration and carried out threat to Brentwood. Good to see Vilcu back. Thought Harold did well too as well as scoring the winner. Mickey P and Billy look to be forming a decent middle 2 partnership. As said above Imedd is a breath of fresh air, hoping his mum lets him stay out long enough to play Thursday night lol. All in all a right ugly scrap which we met full on with the belief that if we win every game we will nick 5th spot. Not to be knocked.
