Today's game

Currently this SEASON we are sitting in 16th, possibly lower if the teams below us pick up points from their games in hand. Frome probably will if they carry on their recent form.

The final league table made up of a WHOLE season doesn't lie, we will wait and see where we finish.

Hopefully it is higher than we are now.

........but we are not being relegated.

While all fans were hoping for a higher league position this season to show progress of some kind, we have to accept that not all things go to plan.

We've now lost our best defender Guy Hollis for the Chippenham game and I suppose in your view, that won't trouble us either !

3spirit, what EXACTLY have I said that you deem unreasonable. Looking back at what I have posted nothing has been critical towards any one in the team or the managers. All I have ever said is that we are too predictable at the moment and should try shacking things up, which is something you yourself have also said previously.

How many of the march games have you come away happy and entertained?

For me only the games against Weymouth and Dunstable were good. I wasn't at bideford or Frome though.

I've think I've explained enough why I thought you were being unreasonable. Perhaps I've got you wrong.

Of course, I want to see Slough playing sublime passing, attacking football but I accept that sometimes we have to have limitations to what we can expect, when we have a patched up side that is not firing on all cylinders.

Unfortunately this season is ending with a fizzle but not a bang which is disappointing but next season I'm optimistic that the good times will return.

Injuries happen to every single team from Sunday league to premier league and international, that is why you are allowed to have a squad of players which has virtually no limit on maximum size.

Football is a TEAM sport. Every team loses players now and then and they deal with it.

.......but the management decided to save a few bob by not bringing in makeweight players, which is no bad thing.  So we have to go with, what we have available.

What don't you understand about this?

I think the management got this right, as surely it's better to have a larger budget for next season than waste money on makeweights this season.

So working on your logic 3spirit, why are we even bothering to play the rest of the games this season if we have given up? - as Neil says they are "dead rubbers".

We could save the expense of having to hire the pitch from SYCOB, the refs expenses, stop paying the players - it will all provide extra money for next season.

It's great just winding up those who have to reply to everything posted on here - it's just like the closed season madness has come early!

Well, the sun is shining at last !!  It must be spring !

Just use the youth team instead, would be a hell of a lot cheaper.

The managers decided to not bring in make weight players other than; Tom Williams, Adam New, Lawrence Arktik, Joe Grant and George Short !!!!!!!!!

.........but all of those players may have a chance of making the squad next season.

The youth team players are obviously not up to the rigours of the Premier division yet.

Is it really worth going to the match today??

Sounds like we are going to struggle to field a side, and arguments could break out amongst our disgruntled and ill-tempered fans!

.....Well, that's what being a supporter is especially at a club like Slough, in that you have to take the rough with the smooth !

Besides it's a nice sunny day and watching a football match is better than some other dreary undertaking, like going shopping, that the wife might get you doing ! ha ha !

Bringing in 5 new players is not cheap and not saving money for next season. Especially when one is a former professional.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't !

TBF unlike other dis-agreements on here neither of us have resorted to name calling, yet :P .

Tom Williams has been with us for a while now, just hasn't played a lot due to injury and I'm sure the other players mentioned are dual registered and won't be costing a lot of money, probably only expenses.
