Dorking Wanderers RESERVES.................

Recommended Posts

Hello Mr Nosh

What exactly do you mean by this ? What is the point you are trying to make ?

The lads at Westhumble clearly are off , are you suggesting a series of promotions for Dorking , or relegation , which on current form seems unlikely or Dorking themselves will be no more at some point in the foreseeable future.

I'm sure Mr Big will have a view and considered opinion as a regular follower of both of the Dorking clubs as may Mr Spurs aka Mr H.

Press releases seem to indicate a future for both for many years to come.

Are you a party to information or a scaremongerer with nothing better to offer other than speculative comment.

Since the news came out about the Dorking Football Alliance and groundshares, despite co-ordinated press releases from both clubs there has inevitably been speculation on the futures of both clubs.

The press release from both clubs will continue as milestones are reached on the Alliance and return to Meadowbank.

Noshers point is difficult to see as there could be many reasons why the CoCo doesn't have a Dorking presence in a few years as Mr Giggle says. I can't think of any which are on the agenda of Dorking FC though.

Little point in me going through all the possibilities and commenting on them but it's another wet weekend so if anyones got any wonderful theories feel free to share!

Shame as I - and a few others - suspect there will be no Dorking presence in the CoCo in two or three years.

A very odd view nosher. I don't suppose you are prepared to name the "few others" that share this speculation? Thought not!

For all my criticisms of the DFC attitude to DWFC in the past, they genuinely appear to have sorted their differences out at present and whilst I could see DFC having problems six months back, that now doesn't appear to be the case and credit is due to both sides for sorting a way through the mess caused by the delays to the rebuilding project.

DFC do have a long history, (even if it goes back just to 1946 rather than the 1880s as they claim, as that team actually folded in 1936) but it would be a pity if they were unable to continue, and speculation like this serves what purpose precisely?

Hook and Tease. Hook and Tease.

Make sure that pitch is ok for Monday and I may let you in on the secret !

Here we go again 'I know something you don't know' season.

The league released a statement three weeks ago.

"The League is aware that there are various clubs from both the Middlesex County League and the Surrey Elite League, geographically suitable for the CCL, who have applied for promotion and will be eligible to be promoted. It is highly likely that no more than one club from each league will be promoted.

In addition, three clubs have applied to join the League from outside the National League System and they will be invited to make their case to the FA in April. They are Bagshot FC, (currently Aldershot Senior League), Godalming Town Development FC (new club but associated with Godalming Town) and Leatherhead Town FC. (new club, youth only at present). Again it will be a matter for the FA to decide whether or not all or any of these clubs will be permitted to join the system at Step 6.

There are two further clubs one at Step 5 and one at Step 6 who have made enquiries about the possibility of a transfer to the CCL. They will not be named as the matter has not gone beyond the enquiry stage but both have been referred to the FA."

All good fun and you managed to name them as well :)

So any thoughts on  reserve/development sides in Div one?

This year :

Two clubs joined very local to me who only recently got their promotions and have similar-ish histories and great recent success.

Pleasure to host and visit by the way.

Both struggled at this level, neither overplayed first team guys by any means.

Did any players graduate up?

Is one season too brief to judge?

If numbers got tight would you prefer a Bagshot FC or an "associated" youth team moving in?

Whats your view Krooner? scenario : Camberley get promoted and can put "ressies" in coco 1.

You are involved in youth football and as a Dad.

Coco 1 or a local youth league or "academy" level or ? to develop players?

Personally I would prefer Div 1 being first team sides however at the moment there doesn't appear to be enough with the facilities.  Maybe that will change in the next couple of year.

I have watched my eldest grow up a little this year playing in the Surrey Intermediate League in Mens football at 16.  Tomorrow he gets his first start in his preferred position for the Reserves at Camberley.  More good experience for him.  Would he be ready for Div 1.  I am not sure he would so happy with his progress to date.  Not sure it answers your question but there you have it.

Wasn't a 16 year old MOM for Hayes at Cambo recently? :)
