Closing date for ground grading 31st March

Recommended Posts

There was a piece from the Hertfordshire Mercury the other day, an interview with the captain of Hoddesdon Cricket Club.

Sounded very negative in regards to the football club's chances of going up, and their existence in general.

Also some residents voicing their concerns about parking.

I can't pretend to know why there's so much bad blood, but it's a real shame when local people can't get behind (or just not oppose) their local clubs. At this level, we all need everyone pulling in the same direction.

They don't really do well with positive PR as a whole & make it really difficult to like them which is maybe why their own residents are blocking their bid to progress . . .

True . . . but if rumours are to be believed . . . several of the other league-leading clubs from our level haven't even applied for promotion so The FA may promote 2 from the SSML Prem and given the limited number of sides that would actually qualify under FA rules, Hertford Town & Berko are still in with a shout of promotion finishing 4th . . . IF Hoddy & London Colney didn't meet the grading in time.

Certainly spices up the final run-in eh?

If there was an extra place for promotion to step 4 it would go to the team in second or third place with ground grading that has the most points per game amongst the 14 step 5 leagues. Neither Hertford nor Berko can reach the PPG totals that many teams with ground grading in other leagues have got so they are not in contention.
