For the benefit of those who haven't been paying attention Vance Bola has been here for over a month and has been in the starting line-up or on the bench in most games since then. ....and, from Google, Piotr Murawski looks to be a 24 year old Polish right sided midfield player who was playing in Poland until January this year.

Back to the match, which certainly wasn't a thriller. What did people think about the match officials situation? For those not there, the referee sustained a leg injury that left him unable to continue and, after much deliberation, we played the last 20 mins or so with one linesman - at the half of the pitch covering our forwards. No linesman for the Farnborough forwards.

 

I don't recall seeing that before in 40 years or so of playing and watching football - but it appears they did make the correct decision as far as the rules are concerned, strange as that may seem. Good job it was such an incident free match other than that!

Really strange situation. You couldn't make it up. Was strange that the linesman changed sides to cover our front line. Thought the replacement ref did a much better job than the first. Just a shame we couldn't get on the scoresheet. Looking at the table it is far from over. If we get a result Tuesday the we back in the mix. We are on the same points as last year too. Here's to a big crowd to cheer on the boys.

For those that weren't there yesterday, during the 20 minute hold up, Brad came over to us and said that he requested that the game should be abandoned and replayed as with only 1 linesman, one team would have had an advantage over the other. As it turned out, nothing significant happened and that was truly a case of 2 points lost against a poor opponent. Great stadium - absolutely awful pitch !

Farnborough are a much improved team from recent signings. They have some of the top teams still to play.

Agree totally that Tuesday's game is a must win match and with a run of home games could claw ourselves right back into the reckoning, all hands on deck guys

Interesting at Beveren yesterday.

Their league match had 2 officials - Ref and one Lino.

 

So for the first time ever seeing a one Lino game, we saw two in two days.

If there cant be three officials then there should only be one. It is unreasonable to have only half the pitch covered by lino. As it is the ref made one off side decision in our half to our benefit but it could so easily have been missed.

 

I think that an official from either club should have taken the line. We have to trust their judgement. However, where was Andy when we needed him?

There are qualified coaches at both clubs who could have ran the line. Me, I was on my sun bed in Cyprus. Too old for running anything nowadays.
