Weymouth

C'est la vie

Recommended Posts

Considering we have almost never altered from 4-4-2 this season (at any game I have seen) I doubt my suggestion will happen. I would like us to change it up a bit and go 4-2-3-1 in attempt to actually use the middle of the pitch a bit more.

Scott

Fraser, Hollis, William, Dhillon

Hope, Webb

W.Harris, Parsons, Putman

Barney / S Harris

Strikers would depend on the pitch. If the pitch is very bobbly I would go for Scott Harris and be more direct, if it is "playable" then Lee Barney and use his pace and passing to work one twos through the defence.

Most teams now know we predominantly play 4-4-2 with two deep centre midfielders and two attacking wingers. They also know that we always try to play through our wingers and often double up on them so going with a CAM player in Jake Parsons would now allow him to have a free role and give our wingers more options.

My team for tomorrow's game is as follow:

Gk- Mark Scott

Rb- Sean Fraser

Cb- Guy Hollis

Cb- Tom Williams

Lb- Jhai Dhillon

Rm- Warren Harris

Cm- Nathan Webb

Cm- Ryan Hope

Lm- Jake Parsons

St- Scott Harris

St- Lewis Putman

It's about opinions but not sure why you would move Putts from wide left when in most games this season he's been our best player out wide.

Also Lee Barney IMO has been excellent and see no reason why he would be left out.

I would just like to see how Putts would do upfront as I feel he has been sussed a few times recently and teams are starting to realise his game. As for Lee Barney I have only seen him in a handful of games and he looks alright but just doesn't seem to have that cutting edge at the moment. Probably because of the pitches this time of year. Would like to see us play a bit more narrow in midfield tomorrow and get Jake Parsons supporting the strikers like he did so well in pre season.

Well Putts came to us as a striker and has scored goals this season from a wide position, and we're not scoring many since Charlie and Ed left, so I can appreciate what John-Boy is saying.

I'd play a 4-3-3 as Weymouth expect us to play a 4-4-2.

My team would be

                 Scott

Fraser  Hollis  Williams  Dhillon

       W.Harris  Hope Webb

        S.Harris   Barney  Putman[free role]

Subs- Parsons, New, Artik, Gokman, Raju

The only problem I have with that formation is that Weymouth are particularly strong in midfield and three up front could leave us exposed.

To me I would use Hatchet to drop in centre midfield and push Nathan Webb wide left, when Weymouth attack us. Putts I wouldn't use defensively but would let him have a free run pushing him and Lee Barney up with every opportunity that comes our way.

Finished 0-0. Fairly exciting game but with few shots.

Warren Harris played up front and had quite a good game causing them problems with his pace mainly in the first half. Tom WIlliams looked good at centre back.

A clean sheet is always good but we haven't scored a single goal in the last three matches.

For me MOTM would be Dhillon who did well defensively and pushed forward well causing them problems down our left hand side.

The ref was very consistent that he didn't blow up for any fifty fifties between attackers and defenders, but he got all of the big calls right in my opinion.

Enjoyable game where either side could have won and a draw is about right.

We played much better as a team and made some chances, but did not worry Matthews in goal enough.

Was one more point to the total and showed we can hold our own against what is supposed to be one of the better teams in this league.

Was not very impressed by Micky Greeno their coach who made himself look a right fool by his constant moaning and abuse at the ref, using some very colourful language, to the point his own fans were telling him to shut up and "manage" the players - I can now see why some of their own fans are not willing to go to games when he is on the bench.

Staines rebel junior Although we are beginning to defend competently most of the time you are correct about our scoring In fact we have now gone five games scoring only once from open play After todays game we slip to 22/24 in the form table over the last eight games which is a cause for concern to me but Im sure the lads will surprise us in the close season Not sure what I think of todays result Taking a point from a team that turned us over so comprehensively is a plus but another 2 home points lost also Its clear we have accepted mid-table to lower mid-table is where we will settle for and plan and revamp for a new season at a new stadium

Good entertainment from two teams playing good football..........real strong commitment from our lads, certainly not end of season stuff. Would be tempted to play Jhai Dillon on left wing letting Putts work down the middle as he is a goalscorer with a proven record.

MOTM............close between Jhai and Guy with Jhai just edging it.

Certainly disagree Irish with your assumption 'it's clear we have accepted mid-table to lower mid-table. If that was so I think we would have lost the game today against a team that had everything to play for.

Graham, who would you play at left back instead of Jhai?

Was an interesting game to watch and a draw is probably fair.

Without wanting to start another player bashing thread I did think we lacked a cutting edge up front. Why did warren play up front rather than Lewis or Lee?

I thought motm was guy again as he never put a foot wrong and made some crucial tackles and marshalled the defense well.

I was by the opps dugout and would like to mention that their coach was an angry man but more importantly the match officials were excellent.

Good game to watch played by, on the day, two evenly matched teams. Draw a fair result in the end.

Again not easy to pick a MOTM because everyone played well and put in a good shift with no outstanding performer.

Probably between Jhai, Warren Harris, Sean Fraser and our central defensive pairing of Guy and Tom Williams.

Difficult not to give it to Wazza because of his relentless work rate and closing down of players but for me Jhai would just get the nod.

Probably the pressure of being one of the divisions big spenders and if a play-off place not achieved his job will be on the line.
