Finished 0-0 but we should really have won it.

We got the tactics right first half having noticed st neots were playing a high line and we ad the beating of them with our pace. We got in quite a lot but couldn't really create a clear cut chance and our low crosses were all either just in front or just behind their target. We did put the ball in the back of the net once though after a Ryan Hope shot hitting the cross bar and being turned in but Lee Barney (someone else may have touched it from our team). The ref gave it initially but the St Neots player all shouted for offside and after a long chat with the linesman the ref cancelled out the goal and gave offside. St Neots offered very little in the first half and didn't record a single shot on or off target. We should have gone in wih a lead at half time.

Second Half St Neots started to play and caused us a few problems but generally we dealt with them well and Mark Scott only had a few shots to save but none really tested him. At the other end St Neots persisted with a high line and we continued to punish them for it but again couldn't get any clear shots to test the keeper. we had a few good headed chances late on with Gokmen heading straight at the keeper from 6 yards out, either side and it would have been in. Warren Harris went up front when Barney was subbed off and found himself through one on one but unfortunately the ball just ran away from him.

In the end it feels more like 2 points lost rather than 1 gained. However positives can be taken with another clean sheet and we are still creating chances which is important.

Nathan Webb went off injured in the first half which hopefully won't be too serious. Jake Parsons replaced him in centre midfield and looked fit and comfortable which is good.

The St Neots groundsman deserve a lot of credit as the pitch looked in great condition which minimal bobbles.

This photo was taken at the point the last Slough player touched the ball, with all the action happening on the white line, so this is when Lee was deemed to be offside.

Even though I was at an angle, the white line shows the "offside" positions clearly.

It's tough being a Linesman

We absolutely battered St Neots in the first half and if it was a boxing match the ref would have stopped the fight. The only thing missing was a goal and IMO a bizzare decision by the lino has seemingly cost us a goal.

As I saw it: we scored what looked to have been a perfectly good goal, having looked across to the lino, who's flag was not raised, the ref gave the goal. After some of the St Neots players protested he went to have a chat with the lino, who still had his flag down. After a short discussion the flag was then raised for offside.

The word at half-time was that the lino appologised to our managers for not initially raising his flag for offside??? quite bizzare!

Second half was bit more even when St Neots had a 10/15 minute spell when they gave it a real go and created a few chances but apart from that I think we were still the better side and really should have scored when 'Gary' Gokman hit the keeper with a free header and Wazza missed the target with a free header in front of goal.

IMO we played really well, looked solid at the back and created a lot of chances and on another day we would have converted at least 3 or 4.

First time i have been to St Neots good set up pitch must of been good to play on.

It was one of those games we should of had 3 points but we would not of scored in a month of Sundays.

The team played very well Jake got a good run out after Natham went off.

Just a case that all the crosses seemed to go in front or behind the strikers just one of those games.

Good to to see a number of Slough Supporters who now live in that part of the Country.
