v Frome

Recommended Posts

Really hoping we get to play this one and not have to rearrange again, but having just checked the Met Office site, they have a heavy rain Yellow Weather Warning for tonight and the whole of Wednesday morning for that area.

Fingers crossed there's not the amount of rain that is forecast

After going to Frome in November for the trophy match I will NEVER go back there again. It is a horrible club, with their fans shouting racist comments at our players and also shouted disgusting comments about the events which had just happened in France after the latest attacks. On the pitch their players were probably the most aggressive and confrontation I have seen in a long time and for the most part our players did well to rise above it.

It is not very often I will ever say this but I would advise people not to go to this game, don't give them your money !!!

I support our team fully and hope we can get a good result but there is no way I would go to the game.

I wasn't thee in November due to family matters so cannot comment directly. However these sort of people thrive on publicity so it is best to ignore them as far as possible. If there is illegal behaviour this needs to be reported. Family matters and the weather allowing I will be there to support the Rebels.  COYR.

The ground is a building site due to a new stand going up so there is very little cover - probably below what is required.

The pitch is like a ploughed field full of turnips.

The people are turnip heads and bury there heads in the pitch to nurture their racist and bigoted views which the stewards fail to take any action over.

The food is pre-cooked and of poor quality.

Frome football club is like a visit to the 1950's

The road the ground is on is also dug up.

Got the following from them on Twitter :

avoid Rodden Rd. Stay on bypass, head toward Frome Flyer/Premier Inn - enter Frome via Berkley/Clink - there are signs to FTFC

In other words, head to the ground from the north of Frome, not the south

Currently on our way down. Both have been flat out last couple of days and had no chance to send team news out.

We have some issues....

New signing Tom Wiliiams has a hamstring strain.

We had a plan organised for Guy to get out of London on the train and picked up and driven to Frome but he had issues leaving work and will not make it.

Had a call from Eddie at 4.30pm who was on his way to hospital following a sudden family illness. He will try to get there for 2nd half but no guarantee.

Rummy is with and will be on bench in an emergency.

Up against it but will be giving it a real good go with the lads we have!

Thanks Unders.

Looks like we are really up against it tonight against a team that have become a bit of a bogey team for us having played them 4 times in the last two seasons, drawn 3 lost 1.

Despite having a makeshift team its seems like we put in a really good effort tonight, fully deserving a draw but eventually losing 2-1 after conceding the second goal direct from a free kick somewhere near the half-way line.

Obviously there were good reasons why we were short on numbers tonight but I reckon the quicker we can boost our squad numbers the better.

Decent performance in a game we should never have lost ! They had one shot on goal second half which was from the half way line and took a gust of wind and sailed over Scottie in the goal!

We were much the better side !

Warren Harris and Lee Barney were a constant threat up top, and we looked solid throughout !

Really gutted for the lads, we were very depleted however he a real go and somewhat shocked we have not come away with anything!

In terms of players we have 3 seven day approaches in, and been speaking to a number of people on loan players and dual reg!

Big thanks to everyone who made the tough journey tonight

Neil, would I be right in thinking these 3 seven day approaches are for players with next season in mind and the loan/dual reg players are 'stop-gaps' for remainder of this season?

I don't know if it's whats you meant Glen but surely the seven day approaches are for now and possibly with next season in mind if they fit the criteria.
