staines_rebel_Jr
During the weekend match, Accrington Stanley vs AFC Wimbledon, the referee decided to blow for half time just as Accrington scored. The game finished 0-0. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBFkakbRoiY
Krooner
Once did that as a player was clean through on goal. Suffice to say I got a lot of sh1t from the players. Never did it again. always blew for half/full time when the ball was somewhere near the halfway line !
David Carpenter
The problem in this instance is that had the referee let play go on and a goal had been scored then on the restart at the halfway line he would then have had to blow the whistle and would have the incurred wrath from the other side! Perhaps there's an argument for the end of play phase as in rugby although this in itself would be very problematic in football.
HorshamRebel
We had that done to us a few years back, I think it was at Margate or Ramsgate. There was a one on one with the keeper and the ref blew for half time
