Krooner
if someone makes a tackle and deliberately studs a 6ft 3 player in the chest whether the ball is in your hands or not, anywhere else on the pitch you get sent off. Epsom's manager apologized for what had taken place and agreed with the decision as did a couple of defenders. I thought the ref had a decent game which seems quite rare kept the game moving. i agree E&E with your 1st half summory both teams found it differcult to get going both teams needed more touches then normal on a bobbly surface, but disagree with 2nd half seemed to us you were happy with the 1,0 lead and set the bus up for 40mins!! you could not contain our wide boys. if we were more clinical with the pens and shots in 2nd half could have 4or 5.2 with your chance 1 chance. Ha Ha. "Thought the ref had a decent game" I wonder if you had 1 sent off and 2 pens given against you what you would have said

In fairness, the update that I compile on our website each week refers to the fact that on another day we could have lost 4-1. It's a pity we couldn't stay 11 v 11 because it was an interesting and well balanced match up to the time of the sending off, if not the greatest in terms of quality, although two of the three goals on the day, one for each side were superb and arguably undefendable. As for being happy with the 1-0 lead and setting up the bus, I'd be very surprised if other teams did anything different when they are down to ten men and holding a lead. We've been in that situation a few too many times this year and have been able to see games out before. This time Knaphill were able to find a way through. As for being 6 ft 3, it doesn't matter how tall you are if you are leaning down. From the angle you (and our Manager) would have had from the bench, you could see the studs being raised and I have no argument with the sending off. However, from the angle I had, I could also see your guy coming in on our keeper with a head of steam and I think that part of our keeper's reaction was self-preservation. As for containing your wide players, maybe we should have played four at the back, but I know our two regular right backs were struggling with injury and so I can see why we did what we did. I fully expect you to finish as high as sixth this season if you keep away from injuries while playing your games in hand.
E&E Rich
Ha Ha. "Thought the ref had a decent game" I wonder if you had 1 sent off and 2 pens given against you what you would have said Actually mate, I agree! He did have a decent game. Both incidents were penalties and the sending off was a correct one. You can tell so much from players reactions and we didn't query any of the decisions vociferously, except for our obviously annoyed keeper. Looking back though, he was also very apologetic afterwards. We have had some shockers this season; twice as many as we had in the whole of last year, but this one was fine. doughie
quite the apposite krooner, we have had our fair share of keepers sent off!! lost the game but the ref was decent so you take that and move on,and won games and they where awful and there the ones we all focus on. what was refreshing was he engaged with the players and the dugouts
