The details for this year's sponsored walk have been finalised, and we want as many people involved as possible.

Due to a certain lack of fitness I would be unable to take part in either of the proposed walks. However if you introduced a third option - SYCOB car park - the turnstiles then I would take part. Seriously - best wishes to everyone who takes part and I would sponsor as usual. Could I offer my services as a back-up driver in case any one has the misfortune to have to pull out during course of their walk?  COYR

If you think you can handle the walk, then please put yourself forward for it.

 

This is the last walk the supporters will be doing with the club "homeless" and playing outside of the borough of Slough, at Holloways Park, so try and join in and make it a large and profitable walk.

 

You can start at either Windsor or Wexham Park, so you have a choice of all the walk distance, or some of it.

 

If you can't do the walk, then please, please, find one of the people that are (including Kay, Dan, Alan, etc) and sponsor them with as much money as you can.

 

Let's get behind the walkers and the club and make this last Holloways Park walk one of the best the supporters have done

Unfortunately due to current family issues I have had to withdraw my offer of acting as a back up driver should any people have to pull out as they are walking. Perhaps other people might be in the position to offer such help? Best of luck to everyone taking part and let's hope as many people as possible are able to offer sponsorship to whatever level they can afford. Apart from helping with the Trust finances the local cause is as usual most deserving as per Dan Brench's original post. COYR.

I have set up a PayPal donation button on the Trust events page where all the sponsored walk details are.  Please add around 5p per £1 to cover the PayPal charges if donating this way.

There are also several people with sponsor forms, and there will be a group sponsor form too that will be around at the games.

 

We currently have around 10 people who have said they'd be interested, however not everyone is confirmed and not all of the people want to be sponsored directly.  We could still do with more people to walk to help us raise more money.  This is why we are offering the shorter version from Wexham Park as well as the long version from Windsor.

I have put the names of the people who have signed up for the walk on the Trust news page so that people know who to sponsor. You can also donate online through the events page.

Mike Pearcy has produced a 5 minute video on the walk route and the work of Sebastian's Action Trust ahead of the walk next Saturday.

You can find it on the Trust events page and it's been promoted on Facebook and twitter.

Mike has corrected an error in the original video, the updated version can be found on the Trust website events page.

 

We're still looking for sponsorship, so please speak to one of us on Saturday or donate online using the PayPal button on the events page. We should have around 15 walkers for the 14 miles and a couple doing the 8 miles.

We've also had good press coverage from the Observer and Express with both publishing articles on their websites.

It might be a good idea to get the Observer/Express to photograph and publish the presentation of the cheque to Sebastian's action trust.

Children from Sebastian's Action Trust will be match day mascots on Saturday which will be no doubt be covered by HR and Mike Pearcy who is helping is to run the publicity.
