Eastside Urchin
Ouch Hope they throw the book at him. I have always thought we were too good to go down from the conference south and certain videos and incidents do nothing but in my eyes prove it was because of something untowards. Obviously we as fans can't prove who are what games were actually a problem but there's no smoke without fire and us as fans should feel cheated at the current position of this football club because had this not happened I have no doubt in my mind that this football club would still be in the conference south and have another 100-150 fans minimum supporting it. We have been royally robbed and I for one have never felt the same about football since the initial claims and out after our game away at Chelmsford
cup of tea
East Thurrock must have known about the rumours surrounding Lewis Smith before they signed him. Shame that such a well run club would take a risk like that. Just glad the FA kept going on this. A real talent but clearly a selfish person who doesn't care about the consequences of his actions. urchinman1961
The only thing that didnt make any sense was his stupid sending off home to Truro which was and should have been a home win and probably sealed our fate
Miss.A.F.C.Hornchurch
What's done is done. Club has got to work together to get us back to a better league. I think it Will happen, but may take time
cup of tea
A few incidents that season - There's also the Joe Woolley penalty missed 'save' where, if one were being cynical the suggestion could be made (not by myself I hasten to add) that it looked like he pulled his hands out of the way (think that was from a penalty given away by Lewis Smith). Despite how dodgy it might have looked at the time, there's no evidence that he actually did anything wrong. Good thing is that Joe put all that behind him and went on to have a successful and uncontroversial career in football after Hornchurch. It IS time to move on. Fat Tom Daley
http://www.thefa.com/news/governance/2016/mar/lewis-smith-east-thurrock-united-suspended-betting-rules Can't believe he's only got a 18 month suspension and a 22k fine!
cup of tea
Charmed life, has Lewis The bottom line is that he's only got done for betting on games, and not for anything else. Not really a sufficient punishment given the volume of offences.
