Not going to Dorchester?

That's probably what they would have got had they kept prices at normal rates. Fair play to them for giving it a go but this really highlights the lack of interest and once we move out you have to wonder how they'll keep going unless someone pumps money in (why would they when there's no potential?).

I suppose the one thing going for them is their link up with the Wycombe academy.

Might just save their skin.

When all the prices go up at our new super-dooper stadium ie admission cost, hot dogs, burgers, beer, programme, merchandise etc. and with traffic chaos ensuing because of all these potential newbies jumping on the Slough Town FC bandwagon and thus overcrowding and moronic support.....................................................;

The quaint, empty Holloways Park in leafy Buckinghamshire is going to sound such much more appealing than what it currently does ! ha ha ha !

How do you come to this "When all the prices go up at our new super-dooper stadium ie admission cost, hot dogs, burgers, beer, programme, merchandise etc"

These we have no control over.

And this "and with traffic chaos" The times Saturday and now and then Tuesday nights traffic will be minimal

Surely we'll have control over admission, programme and merchandise costs?

Please read again.

That's why I put the others in RED

WR = By putting Ha Ha at the end doesn't make it a joke

You're touchy Epic Rebel.  Sorry but that was my cynical humour, at times too honest for some but that's me.

Would I, have been one of those fans all those years ago, who went down the Slough Town Hall protesting about Slough Town FC 's treatment, if I didn't want to see a team I've followed for too many years to mention, playing back in it's home town?  Of course I wouldn't !

Would I have spoken to Fiona McTaggart about the football club's situation, if I didn't care?

Would I have turned up in the Norway Drive Hall, Wexham and had a row with a distinguished well known local lady resident[at the time] about the club's plight? Of course not.

Would I have tried to help look to see if land was available in the George Green area[ because of family ties], when no land was available for the new ground? Of course not.

I even wrote a letter to Sir Alan Sugar about Slough FC plight, when he was doing a column in the Daily Mirror about helping businesses.

So I don't think I'm a man against the new stadium, do you ? !

ER, why don't you pick on those from the local area that don't come to the games, and not get wound up by a bit of ironic humour !

It might be written as a joke, but when it is used by others as being a completely serious comment (ie.. Out of Context), that's when the damage can be done.

We have all said things in jest to someone, only to hear someone else taking about it a few days later, saying, you never guess what so-and-so was saying.

It's quite easy to cut and paste specific parts of a whole conversation and turn it's meaning around. That's how a lot of newspapers get their stories.

How many times have you heard people say "that's not what I meant when I said that"

The above is NOT a dig at anyone, just an observation at how one's meaning can be turned to another meaning

The thing is, HR , we are on the ' Slough Supporters Forum', the clue's in the title ! ! !

Most fans know each other's alias's, anyway, so if we can't enjoy a bit of banter, wit, humour, a joke or a bit of irony, this forum is in a poor state of affairs.

I can understand when someone gets uppity about a remark that is personally abusive, as that cannot be right.

However, getting on your high horse about something as trivial as my ' ironical yet throwaway, joking comment is frankly ludicrous and pathetic in my opinion.

That is your opinion, and Mark has his opinion.

Mark, probably feels the same way about your comments as you do about his.

As you say, the clue is in the title of the forum that we all support the same club.

You support it your way, with the odd "jest", Mark supports the same club his way.

Speak to him in person tonight, or on Saturday (if you are not going tonight) about it if it gets to you that much.

HR, are you trying to mediate or start a fight ! ha ha ha !

I know Epic Rebel [Mark] to speak to. If he wants to speak to me, he's welcome. I'm not hiding !

To be honest, I'm happy to forget all about it but I have to keep replying to you and your comments, which keeps dragging it out !

Goodbye

epicrebel     I for one hope this was a knee-jerk reaction and not a permanent intention  after nearly 1400 posts and 80ish likes  few can doubt that the vast majority of your posts are constructive and well intentioned and your input on the forum would be greatly missed  When I read 3Spirits post I had no doubt that he was not being serious  but you read it differently  Well these things happen but no need for handbags at dawn ! In the interest of the club and the forum I would urge you to keep them coming.
