Vs Dorchester

Recommended Posts

Dorchester have got their home game on tonight which is good news for this weekend.

This will be a tough match and we will need to play much better than we did on the weekend to get anything from it.

Will it be Charlie Mpi last game or will that be Cirencester?

Also will Scott Harris and/or Paul Coyne be brought in for this match?

According the write up on the Bedworth game Dorchester will be Charlie's last game.

Credit to the ref letting the game go ahead but that is all he gets credit for. Anything more than spitting rain and it probably would have been off.

Considering half the team had flu they played very well and contained Dorchester well. Dorchester played with a 3-4-3 I think with their wing backs pushing up pinning our wingers back. Dorchester had the majority of the possession but struggled to break us down, just getting a few headed chances in the first half which they should have done better from. We played well on the counter attack and created some more clear cut chances with Mpi being brought down by a defender when through on goal for a penalty. Should have been a yellow arguably a red instead the ref did neither and no talking to. Es Smith scored luckily with a poor penalty. Just before half time Slough doubled the lead through Nathan Webb who was offside but not spotted. Second half started strong and were unlucky not to get a third when 3-4 shots were blocked in quick succession. Dorchester once again dominated possession but again didn't create much until Stonehouse missed placed a header back fortunately the Dorchester couldn't finish. Slough still created chances on the counter but couldn't quite kill the game. Dorchester got a consolation goal a minute from the end.

Dorchester had one sent off for a foul on hope. Already on a booking he was given a straight red when miss timing a tackle. It was a minimum yellow and debatable red, some would say yes some no.

A well deserved 3 points and a winning end for Charlie Mpi who was given a personal ovation before he leaves for Dubai.

MotM is tough as no one really stood out it was a good solid performance by everyone.

Was pleasantly surprised with the result, as when I arrived to find nearly half the team with flu and Scott not even warming up in goal, a bitter wind swirling round the ground, and the pitch like the Somme, It looked like we were in for a drubbing.

However we took the game by the scruff of the neck and got off to a good start.

With both our goals in the net before half time we went in in a good position.

Second half we pushed again, but legs started to tire and the inevitable Dorchester goal came considering how many chances they wasted - but we held on for the win and 3 more points in the bag.

The ref was special and had no idea of when to give out cards and what colour.

Best wishes and thanks to Charlie for his services in making sure we stay up.

P.S. Sue - no moaning in there, other than about the pitch and the ref.

P.P.S. Best chips so far this season.

Another verse for Rebel Delaney:

The wheels on the bus nearly ran out of electricity

Ran out of electricity,

Ran out of electricity,

The wheels on the bus had to go back to Uxbridge, to change buses.

For the sake of Rebel Delaney this is a mickey take of the busses alternator failing and the bus going back to Uxbridge for a replacement bus.

Considering our circumstances this was an excellent 3 points.

Only going by Twitter but Mark Scott, along with others, playing despite illness, pulled off some excellent saves, keeping us in the game and for me must be a big contender for MOTM.

Well done to all concerned for a performance full of character and a well deserved 3 points.

A big thank you and best wishes for the future to Charlie Mpi, who has been a revelation this season and has played a massive part in securing our future in the Southern Premier division.

THANK YOU CHARLIE.

COYR!!!
