v Bedworth

We're playing Bedworth at home, for Christ sake, a team second from bottom  !

Surely young squad players deserve a chance in matches against lower teams in the division.

I'm NOT assuming Wazza's not fit.

I would just like to see 'Gary' Gokman  given more than the paltry five minutes he normally gets, when coming on for his umpteenth, fleeting sub appearance.

I would have thought it would be an ideal game for him to start, thus resting Wazza until sometime in the second half for his introduction, if needed.

Young players don't learn anything stuck on a bench, week in week out !

The assumption that we don't have to play our strongest team because Bedworth are second from bottom is IMO the wrong way to approach any game in this division regardless of who we are playing. I wonder if Weymouth approached last weeks game with the same attitude?

Gurkan will get his chance, maybe later in the season when we are safe from relegation with nothing to play for.

IMO now is not the time to put our better players on the bench to give players a run out.

Anybody would think I'm saying change the whole team for youngsters !  I'm not.

Think we will have to differ on this one, RR.

You believe in tried and trusted.

I believe in tried and trusted but also freshening tired legs/minds and giving young players a chance to develop.

By the way, I think Bakes and Unders will play the same team that beat Hitchin except for Stoney to play instead of Jhai Dhillon, if all are fit. Rarely do they surprise in team selection. Not mean't as a criticism. More an observation.

If so IMO it would be unfair on Jhai as I don't think he's done anything wrong and he played a blinder against Hitchin keeper the ginger one quiet.

I would pick Stonehouse over Dhillon for left back. Stoney showed that he was a better defender during his first spell for the club plus Dhillon gets wound up very quickly and teams are starting to pick up on it. He kicks out and leaves his foot in a lot and has been quite lucky to get away with it in the last few games.

We couldn't make the most of the wind today. first half we probably edged the game but other than the long shot from Stonehouse we didn't create many chances. The first half was all about two defender, Hollis and Haines, both were excellent for their respective sides in cutting out any attacks. Second half we started well and got the goal through Mpi but Bedworth equalised immediately and grew stronger and quickly took the lead. After going a goal down Slough never looked like getting back in it and struggled to keep the ball in the Bedworth half.

Bedworth deserved their first away league win of the season as they look to climb out of the relegation zone.

There were some strange refereeing decisions once again today, especially some of the yellow cards. Some yellow cards for soft fouls, some which were barely fouls and then Mark Scott should have been sent off at the end when taking out the player through on goal but got away with a yellow which is good for us as we won't have to find a replacement.

Bedworth played the conditions better than us and deserved their win. We may have edged the first half but I was worried that we hadn't made the most of the wind and we only really tested the keeper once. We just fell apart after we scored and how many times have we conceded straight after scoring over the last few seasons? Their two goals were so easy there may as well have not been a Slough player on the pitch.

I think 9 times out of 10 we get our substitutions right but all 3 today left me scratching my head. In particular, bringing Puts off for a defender when we were chasing the game at the end seemed odd unless he was injured. Whilst he wasn't having one of his greatest games for us (who was), he is a player capable of a bit of magic and indeed, a minute later we got a free kick in a position where you'd fancy him to test the keeper.

All in all an afternoon to forget and a bloody horrible one weather wise!

If Jhai's such a liability who are you going to put in at left back when Stoney goes back to Oxford?

I'm not sure if it was the reason for the substitution but Putts seemed to have a recurrence of his back problem. Also, although Jhai is primarily a defender I think he was brought on to push forward into more of an attacking role but at that time we were on the back foot and it was difficult to get forward with the wind.

Relatively even first half which we may have just edged but we certainly should have tested their keeper more with the wind in our favour.

We did well to get our noses in front and then proceeded to commit defending suicide and gifted Bedworth the win with two incredibly avoidable soft goals.

Just got to hope that Ed Smith is OK because he seemed to be hobbling within a few minutes of being on the pitch and Putts is OK with his back.

MOTM between Rummy, Warren Harris and Guy Hollis with Warren Harris getting the nod from me for his non stop effort and workrate.

I get what you mean 3spirit but on today's display Warren Harris is far from tired, because he didn't stop running for the 90 minutes.

Bad result.......... especially poor second half............only Rummy looked the part today. What will we do when goes back?

Maybe best to say nothing else on the performance against the second bottom club !!

I think we have to forget where the opposition is in the table.

If nothing else today's game confirms that it doesn't matter who you are playing if your not on your game you can easily get turned over.

A poor display today. Bedworth outfought us second half. However a sharp ed smith would have got 2 today and we would have had an undeserved win. Their number 9s pace and movement was the difference today.

Disagree about an undeserved win.

There was little between the two sides and Bedworth got their win courtesy of one horrendous and one poor piece of defending.
