Best SSML striker ever?

Recommended Posts

What a beautifully tough topic this one really is.

Blaise O'Brian (who also played with Hillingdon boro lets not forget SB) would definitely be up there for me, along with other cult heroes such as

The Cooper brothers

Hammond of Royston & Putman of Oxhey both for there single fantastic scoring seasons.

Jimmy Armstrong Levy/Berko/Langley/Sun - consistancy

B Bubb Chalfont & L Roache - Class in abundance.

A.Anstead St Mags- big and ugly (like his footballing ability)

But my all time number one(number 9) favourite would be a gentleman by the name of Mick Swasyland- Tring/Aylesbury/Beaconsfield/Ruislip.

Phenomenal man to match his footballing talents. Proven in all different teams taking many titles along the way.

Did one of the Cooper brothers play for Colney Heath a few years back?

Yeah L.Putman had that great season a few years back didnt he was it 80 goals? Something silly like that?

Is J.Armstrong still at Sun Postal?

No believe he has retired following a couple of games for Bovingdon this season

in the last few seasons

PUTMAN - consistently scored goals

BJ CHRISTIE - scores goals and makes goals

JIMMY ARMSTRONG - fantastic player whenever I seen him play... a real handful for defenders.

BOBBY DEVYNE - scores bundles for Brimsdown before joining ETFC

JOEL NORRIS - scored 70+ in just over 80 games for WGC (off the top of my head figures so I stand to be corrected)... also a really nice fella off the pitch.

Richard Howard at Potters Bar had a decent record back in the day but Putman was a bit special for a while

Richie was prolific at both St Margaretsbury and Hoddesdon before his Potters Bar days, definitely up there for me.

Been lucky to have some very prolific strikers at Hoddesdon over the years.

Richard Howard
Barry White

Paul Evitt
Gary Laffar
Ryan Redford
Adam Bolle
Mark Summers
Ben Andreos
Dave Russel
Dean Barker

All names I have enjoyed seeing score hatfulls of goals.

Fans used to sing "Ooo Aaa Gary Laffar". Doesn't his son George play in the league these days? Ex Hertford, now at Brox?

Does anyone remember Tony Ratcliffe from the 80's for Eaton Bray and Totternhoe. Went on to play at a much higher standard.

Absolute superb player and if not for dodgy ankles, would have been a pro. Had to retire early due to his injuries.
