Billericay 2 Aylesbury 2

I suspect both sides went away from this game thinking that they may have done enough to win it.

We took the lead through Michael Black who I thought was our best player yesterday but again couldnt hang onto it for very long although the ref missed a blatant foul in the build up to their equaliser. Although Black had another effort just wide this was Aylesburys best spell and they deserved to take the lead although the management cant have been pleased that it was from a route one punt upfield that about three defenders chose to watch.

However we didnt give up and strangely this seemed to spur us on with the introduction of tolan making a difference. dormer hit the post with a curling effort and in the closing minutes leon hunter headed home to level the match.

I felt that we didnt play as well as we did last saturday but at least had the gumption to get back into the match after falling behind.

we have 3 hard games coming up now so lets hope we can get back to the level of performance against grays so that we secure our first win at hitchin since 1410!!!

In some ways it was the same old story - yet again we had the lead but let it slip, we hit the woodwork for the 2000th time this season and individual errors gifted them both goals.

Against that it was the first time this season that we've come from behind to get something from a league game. Thought the midfield looked more balanced yesterday, particularly first half. Steve Jones and Michael Black both had decent games, and it was good to see Hunter get his first goal for us. Before the start of play yesterday only Redders had scored a league goal for us this season (and that was Saturday) so we needed the midfield to start chipping in with a few, particularly in the absence of Hockton.
