Slough Town 7-1 Epsom & Ewell

Firstly, whilst it's easy to point the finger at the fact we were playing the bottom team today (and they were awful), I think the team should be congratulated on a very good performance today. Most of the goals were well carved out and not purely because of a poor defence. I feel that whether it was Epsom or Lewes today, with a showing like that we probably would've won.

Secondly 'Conference Quality' was outstanding again today (no, I mean Ian Hodge, not Spencer). A four-goal haul was just what he deserved. The seventh really showed why, when he chased and chased that long punt upfield and slammed it home. Ryan Spener did, of course play well today too. Boot was a bit quiet but still managed two (one a penalty)

Thirdly a decent atmosphere today, maybe slightly helped by the fact we'd won the game by half-time.

Lastly poor old keeper, I'm sure he was suffering with all the stick, poor kid looked like he was going to cry... after getting all cocky after Epsom had scored too ! Should be noted we also hit the post through Daly (I think) and we could indeed have got double figures today. Don't worry Matty Miller, you'll score again soon, we believe in you !

Well done Slough Town.

I think you'll find the songsheets were folded up and stuffed into peoples' pockets....

In all seriousness, it was a great idea, and let's all bring them along to future games.

I wouldn't get too carried away with it. Whilst it was a good performance, the opposition weren't up to much similar to Wednesday. Next Saturday will see a better indication of how far we've come.

Good to see the keeper got his come uppance. Giving those hand gestures to the crowd shortly before they scored and again when they scored he deserved not only the stick he got, but also the goals slammed past him.

Excellent performance. You can only beat what is in front of you. I was begining to feel sorry for their keeper in the end. The important lesson he has to learn today is that you should not give stick back to a fairly large group of fans when you are playing behind such a crap team and are likely to concede goals. Silly boy.

No-one can be faulted today, not even Fossie I am not surprised he lost concentration he was barely tested.

I thought Moller, Spencer and Hodge were particularly impressive. Classy cameo from Hyatt.

next week against Marlow should show us how good we are

Who'd have thought we'd be saying that, six or seven years ago?

I think our second biggest test will be on Boxing Day (the first being Lewes away). Windsor will, after all, be on home turf and we'll see whether their position of second is justified and whether they can maintain it.

Technically yes, but let's see how they react to playing in front of a crowd which they won't be used to. Could either inspire them or put them right off. I think we should be particularly hostile for that one!

Personally, I'm expecting another seven goals now that that's the norm for home games

Good display by the REBELS today must say some of you guys get a blinkered view watching the game behind the goal Booty played well cracking pass by him to make the first goal as well as scoring two

That's true, but he doesn't look the same player who scored 30+ goals last season - maybe because Ian Hodge is taking the role of lead striker this season and Booty is used more as a 'creator'. Last season he was mostly noted for his goalscoring.

Alan Foster was bloody dreadful yet again

Spencer, Hodge and Miller sheer class

Daly, Murphy and Mollar looked very strong

Also nice to see hyatt getting a run in the team, it is definately paying off as he is showing why he has been so successful, his knowledge of the game is superb and against poor teams he really can create anything from nothing.

Weak links were Foster and Wilkinson

I know people make mistakes but Foster seems to make a number of mistakes every game. I would put the goal down to him and a few chances both before and after their goal were slip ups on his behalf. He never looks comfortable off crosses and corners and i have only seen him come off his line on the odd occassion. I dont feel comfortable with him in goal.

Thought yesterday was Spencer's best performance of the season maybe with the exception of Godalming and Guildford in the FA Cup. Hodge is showing he is class at this level, and once again Miller showed his desire and workrate for the football club. Other impressive performances definately from the boys at the back, especially Moller who really does look a good player at this level.

Can't agree with that in the slightest. Missed the goal but I'll put the blame on him for it. He's rescued our creaking slow back line on a number of occassions through good awareness and coming out to clear the danger. I much prefer having him in goal than any of the alternatives I've seen playing for the opposition this season.

Just out of interest, who would you replace him with?

What's all this crap about Fozzy Matt? - yes a mistake yesterday, but a good all-round goalkeeper - best I think we have had since Wilkerson and the defence have confidence in him.

Agree with Gary (Aggghh) Epson were not very good at all and I think Eton Wick could have given them a game! Marlow will be interesting Saturday as their form suggests their up-and-down like a tart's knickers :-)

I don't think a big crowd will scare Windsor too much as players such as Townley, Carroll, Cousins, Scott are useto playing in front of a lot bigger crowds in their league days!

Good performance though from the boys and as someone said you can only beat what's in front of you...

Hodgy was quality yesterday and Spencer had his best game in a while.
