RTyler01
The Trust has been informed by the Football Supporters Federation (FSF) that the away matchday insurance which comes from the FSF, that has been offered with membership of the Trust, has been withdrawn as of January 1st 2016. The letter from the FSF explains "unfortunately due to changes in legislation in how insurance policies can be sold and governed the insurance provider feels that the FSF's Insurance Trust League Match Day Insurance Policy is no longer compliant and therefore unable to offer this policy for renewal in 2016." Unfortunately this does mean that there will no longer be any away match insurance included with membership of the Trust, including those who have purcahsed membership for this season, following the expiration of the FSF agreement. The FSF has offered its apologies for having to withdraw the benefit. Just checking. if we travel via the supporters coach/mini bus to Bideford on the 30th, we get there and the game is then called off, we would have to pay again to get to the re-arranged game? Or any other away game left this season for that matter
RebelDelaney
Why can.t the policy be extended to end of season. And new policy start for next season
A Rebel and a Saint
I'm afraid these are questions that should be directed to the FSF and their insurance provider as it was their decision and nothing to do with the Trust. I'm not sure but it could well be that the policy ran through calendar years and as such could not be extended to the end of the season. We have not been able to find an alternative insurance provider and as such we will be monitoring each away game carefully to ensure that losses by individuals and the Trust are kept to a minimum. RebelDelaney
It must of been start of a season when policy first come in to being commonsense gone mad again. Is this policy football related only or is it a policy that covers a multitude of things outside of football.
A Rebel and a Saint
Not necessarily RD. If you want to ask specific details I suggest you go to Mike Lightfoot who is most likely to know. The point is it has been withdrawn and there isn't anything we can currently do about it.
Reading Rebel
Although it was nice to have a safety net, I can only remember the policy having to be used twice in recent years.
