I'm new on this board and this is my first post.

What are your predictions for the league?

Obviously i would say ILFORD will win. <img src="/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" />

My prediction (in the knowledge that the Top placed club will rise to the upper echelons of Ryman Div 1 .. at least that's what was suggested by the FA but who knows if the goal-posts will change ? ) is that there will be such a mad rush for the Championship it will be like the Turkey queue at Marks and Sparks on Xmas eve.. in the mean-time, Go for Gold, Enfield Town and Concord Rangers and good luck from us all !

Ilford may top the league at the moment, but it appears that both Ilford and Enfield believe that it is going to be a two horse race. Concord are obviously in a good position but they have to play the BORO twice and that is where they will come unstuck. Sawbo have been the best team we have played this season and they along with us are still well in the hunt for the championship. I agree that both Ilford and Enfield may still be the favourites mainly for financial reasons but my tip is that it will go down to the last games of the season with 5 teams vying for the top spot.

Well done to Concord for their vase triumph and best wishes to Enfield with regards to their next vase game.

I saw Sawbo earlier in the season when the Town played them and we were lucky to come away with a win. I agree that they are the best team we have played against this season and could be the dark horse in the pack.

Concorde must stand a good chance but there fixture list is starting to pile up and they did not impress when we played them.

Ilford have the hardest run in and will be without Danny Clarke for a spell as he got sent off yesterday.

I predict that the top four at the end of the season, in alphabetical order will be Concorde, Enfield Town, Ilford and Sawbridgeworth.

We have now lost 4 out of 5...! Thankfully only one was a league game.....

Its not going to well at the moment....

Clarkey and Devor got sent off on Saturday.....

There was no manager there either....

Haven't been told why...?????

Many more performances like Saturdays and we'll be also rans.....

So my ETFC friends...what is it with Clarkey...?

Petulant....yes..........

Big time....yes..........

Bad attitude...yes.....

It isn't as though he's even played at a higher level.....! He constantly berates his team mates....slags them off at every oppurtunity...!

Yes he's worth 30+ goals a season but i'm starting to think he's also got a lot of baggage...!

Still we'll crack on with or without him and will definately have a say wheer the title goes..!

He's played in the 'Ryman premier' for EFC,as did Alleyne...although neither were prolific.....Something like 1 goal in 30 for Clarke, and 6 goals in 60 for Alleyne.

Yes he will get a lot of goals...yes he Petulant and moody, but i wouldn't say he was 'big time' or has a 'bad attitude'....clark scores most of his goals at this level by out-pacing or 'out-skilling' his opponants, something he struggled to do at the top level.

I found ETFC often fell into the trap of becoming 'one dimentional' by playing to Clarks strenghs...ie..wack a long ball to him, then support..or ,wack a long ball over the top.

There is more to being a striker than just putting the ball in the net. Look at the work rate of the top strikers, Shearer for example, still gives a lot, even when he is not scoring.

Clarkey is good at this level; but does would need to change his attitude to progress, and that must bring it's own frustrations.

I agree with Southport.....Work rate does need to be alot better......and I also agree with "LS"

He is very one dimentional and the team can fall into that trap.....!

He does have a bad attitude at times and would do better reacting more positively when things aren't going so well....

Like southport said it can get very frustrating because he has the ability to play ay a higher level but unless he is willing to listen and learn this will be the only level he will play at....

Shame really.....

'He also isn't too sure of the offside rule yet!'

I would have thought that a better statement would be ' he not sure of the offside rule.'

HA HA HA

As a joke at the end of season etfc players presentations Danny was presented with a framed copy of the offside rules. Needless to say he didn't take it home!

I agree but don't go so far away from home for a comparison. I think that Ian Cooper, Lee Smith and Billy Cove all work much harder, and give more playing options against complex teams. ... Daniel was a great servant of the past for Town and will always be remembered for what he did in our first 2 years, bless him!

Town has got stronger throughout the season, and if we can defend better we will be hard to beat!

And PS they all know the offside rule. All we need is some linesman that do also.
