Tel
Who has applied for promotion from Step 7 in the C C catchment area?
Chris Clapham
The league is, apparently, aware of one official application to the FA. There are 2 or 3 others who have expressed an interest. I'm afraid I cannot say who these clubs are however. Sorry.

Tel
Is there a cut off date for applying from Step 7 or is it left until the end of the season to see who is in a position for promotion with ground grading.
Chris Clapham
Is there a cut off date for applying from Step 7 or is it left until the end of the season to see who is in a position for promotion with ground grading. The following piece is aimed at any clubs currently at Step 7 who are hoping to be promoted to Step 6 at the end of the season. We have been advised by the Football Association that the application process for clubs seeking promotion to Step 6 is now open. There are two important points to note, one being that the FA will decide into which league clubs will be placed if they are promoted and the other is that, for one season only, clubs playing at Step 7 do not have to finish in the top five to be considered. Nominally it is still only one club that can be promoted from each Step 7 league but where Step 5/6 and Step 7 leagues are able to reach agreement upon more than one club, the FA is unlikely to raise an objection. This could be relevant in the CCL. We hope that the four clubs without Grade G will all attain it by 31 March, but if they don't, the path could be clear for more than one to be promoted from Step 7 especially if more than one has to be forcibly relegated. To clarify: A club finishing in 1st position that meets the entry criteria will be considered first. If that club does not apply or fails to meet the criteria then the next eligible club will be considered and so on.
mug2football
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a separate football pyramid for clubs with no graded ground (Just good pitch with changing and showers), so the best team is at the highest level rather than the one with a better facilities or most money(Regional based). just a thought.... I could see a lot of very good players staying in the game who still want to play but with fellow players of the same level but they can still hold down a full time career. Smudge
Chris who has been advised? Does this mean the end of CCL Football, for Farleigh Rovers,Sheerwater,Staines Lammas,Worcester Park? However surely this is a Charter for Ground sharing Clubs currently in a Step 7 League to gain promotion in a 1 year agreement, just to keep the numbers up.The CCL 1 Division will never be the same if a team in 9th at Step 7 gets the promotion nod.Lets be honest,Shergar has more hope of winning the Grand National, than the above Clubs getting a Grade G grading. You forgot the Lights, the most important facility in the FA's eyes.
mug2football
Realistic amount of teams in each division, no need for lights.
Luke
Mug2football - That exists - it's called the AFA (Amatuer Football Association). Usually good pitches & a good standard of football. AFA Premier div sides play in Surrey Premier Cup & often beat CC1 & Suburban League sides
Tel
You forgot the Lights, the most important facility in the FA's eyes.Re the lights issue, am I correct in thinking lights will not be needed for a couple of years. Should all the teams not obtain the grading how many teams could be taken from step 7. What is the minimum or maximum amount of teams Division one could run with.
