League Statement re Cove FC

 

As you may have become aware, Cove FC has experienced severe difficulties lately, culminating in the Club failing to fulfil two recent league matches.

 

The overriding view of the Management Committee was that the League should look to assist the club if it could and Cove FC has requested a fixture break to enable them to re-group.  This has been approved by the Committee by 17 votes to nil.

 

Consequently, the following matches have been postponed and will be re-arranged for later in the season:

 

Sat 12 Dec:  Cove v Hanworth Villa

Sat 19 Dec:  Westfield  v  Cove

Mon 28 Dec:  Cove  v  Badshot Lea

This will hopefully allow some breathing space to enable the Club to resume fixtures on Sat 2 Jan when they will be at home to Spelthorne Sports.

The inconvenience to the three clubs who were due to play against Cove in the near future is very much regretted but hopefully all member clubs will accept that this action is in the best interests of the League

A very good decision by the League.

 

Lets hope clubs can help them out in any way they can.

Cove have advertised for a new 1st team manager with immediate effect on twitter and their website.

 

 

Ir'll be interesting to see what the response is, and how quickly the post is filled.

I'm sorry but some of you need to be careful what your saying because there are people who are trying there hardest for that club and most of you won't know but cove is more then just a club to me it's family but it's also the only thing I have left from my great pop (Ron brown) so I would appreciate it if you back off with your not needed comments .. thank you!!

I haven't read any bad comments on here just concern and people wishing cove fc well,we all know people are working their butts off to try and turn things around and we also know it will be a very hard thing to do,I knew Ron and know what a lovely man he was I think he would be chuffed by the way people are getting behind Cove fc.

Cove FC 's President has asked me to put the following statement on here:

 

Dave Matthews the clubs 1st team manager has stepped down from the position as from Thursday 10th December .

 

Dave took the position at the start of the season and had to recruit a complete new squad , and with a very young team , he has found it a hard task in a strong league .

 

A manager with an excellent record in youth football , winning numerous trophys including the County Cup. Dave also took on the under 18s after the early departure of the manager . He also run the under 16s on a Sunday

 

I am pleased to say that Dave will continue his great work with our youth division and I wish to thank him for his hard work on behalf of Cove F .C

 

Finally I would like to thank the Commitee of the Combined Counties league who have given us some time to get the club back on track.

Always loved playing against Cove and always enjoyed the hard physical games with great hospitality afterwards

I would definitely have put my name in the hat had I not taken on a 2-3 year post with Windsor u18s

I wish Cove every success and for me u don't have to look much further than Judo Jonno and Duncs
