FF News
Macclesfield Town’s defeat to Southport was marred by controversy on Saturday afternoon after Neill Byrne and Andy Bishop were both shown red cards in the early stages of the game. With 18 minutes played at Haig Avenue, the refs whistle blew as Southport prepared to take a corner. Both Byrne and Bishop were given their marching orders, much to the confusion of the supporters in attendance. With the Irish centre back banned for the next three games, John Askey will be reshuffling his defensive options as the Silkmen look to get back on the winning track against Eastleigh tonight. After the Spitfires trip to the Moss Rose, Macc will be without the 22-year-old defender for their FA Trophy clash against Ashton United and another National League fixture away at Welling on December 19th. Byrne will be available for selection once again when the Silkmen play Tranmere Rovers on Boxing Day. Source: www.mtfc.co.uk Source
