How long does it take for Strutton to get fit? I would agree it's fair to say that before we signed him but he has had 2 full months of playing and training, he must be more than 75 percent fit now? Pre season isn't as long as that! I recall seeing him play when at chalfont a few years back and he was a thicker set lad and didn't look the leanest player about, I think that's just his fighting weight and fitness!

I agree with rest of your message though.

Little bit late posting but agree with all the praise on here for a good win against a half decent side. As on some other occasions I thought our covering was excellent.........in the event of a player losing the ball there as so often another ready to pick it up, thus denying opponents possession and therefore opportunity.

Also agree that everyone played well(cant think who was the exception that someone referred to on here!) and that MOTM is a hard call but would go with Guy just ahead of Sean.

More on Saturday please

Personally I think you're mad..... since Strutton joined us on loan at the beginning of October we have played 11, won 7 drawn 1 lost 3 (7-1-1 in the 9 matches he's started). That's 22 points from 11 matches, and 2 points per match over a season would probably win the title.

Now you may say those results are just statistics or coincidence, or somebody has been wearing their lucky pants since the beginning of October.... personally I think Strutton and the partnership he has forged with Mpi has played more than a small part.

Couldn't agree more, Curtis.

While I accept Charlie Strutton is one part in our revived new line up, I think his loan spell has been a big success.

Can't for the life of me see what fans are moaning about !

He will score goals and is direct, can turn a player and is a proven higher level striker. He isn't a dirty, malicious player and is willing to give it a go and seems keen to help our cause, which is not often the case with all

loanees !

He is also a local bloke, like many fans often want and often go on about.

So what's not to like about him?

3spirit sounds like a fan is not happy not fans.

Struts has played his part for the team was superb at Chippenham.

Sounds like he was unlucky on tues hitting the post what a boost that would of been for him.

TBF Strutts didn't have his finest game on Tuesday and more than anyone else he seemed to keep slipping over every time the went for the ball to the point where I did wonder if he had the right studs in. Having said that he still kept trying and giving his all.

With all the games Strutts has played this season I'd have to question 3spirits assumption that he is only 75% fit.

I'm firmly in the pro Charlie Strutton corner as he is a proven goal scorer and has the right attitude and always gives 100%.

With a question mark hanging over Scott Harris I'd be delighted if Strutts became a permanent fixture for the rebels.

I'm not a doctor ! ! !

When I said 75% I was trying to explain Charlie Strutton isn't at peak fitness yet, so we have to make some allowances for this.

Having said that, as a goalscorer with a no nonsense/direct style, I think he offers Slough a lot, whether fully fit, or not; as he has so far proved.

Doctor 3spirit has ring to it   ;)

Started in 11 games out of 15 and come as sub in the other 4.

Surely enough time to get fit?

Perhaps, as some has suggested, he just has the physique that gives the impression he's not fit?

I don't know everything about Charlie Strutton !  I do know he's had a long lay off through a bad injury.

Getting over serious injuries take varying amounts of time. Some make it back to what they were before injury, some are never quite the same but can do a reasonable job again, some never make it back.

You only have to look at Warren Harris, Adrian Sear and poor old Adam Foulser to prove this point.

So Reading Rebel, I can't give you a definitive answer as to whether the amount of games he's so far played is enough to get back to match fitness. Perhaps you should ask him?

However, having kept an eye on his progression over the seasons I have always been impressed whenever I've seen him play and that's still the case from this loan period at Slough.

Also considering Braintree still have him under contract and haven't released Charlie, I would have thought that says a lot about him !

There will no shortage of other clubs who will like his services, if he becomes available. If Slough have any chance, we should look to sign him !
