Biggleswade match

Looking forward to tonights match, don't like saying that as we have a habit of not playing well whenever I look forward to a game !  :)  Let's hope this doesn't prove to be the case !

On paper, with where both teams are sat in the table and with the managers of both sides being pals/rivals, it adds a bit more spice that it should be a close contest.

Bakes or Unders, any more news on the player we made a 7 day approach for?

Thoroughly enjoyable game tonight until I got stuck with a nutter, Glen STFC will vouch for that as he had the pleasure of his company as well !

Anyway, after making my escape, the game was good to watch and Slough put in a great team effort.

At 0-0 it could have gone either way but once Slough got 2-0 up, there was only going to be one winner. We deserved victory with the amount of effort the players put in.

Lewis Putman was outstanding and I expect most fans will give him the MOTM.

Ed Smith scored a great individual goal and looked back to his best and I expect he will start against St Neots ,Ryan Hope filled in well for Searsy but for me I thought Sean Fraser had a stonkingly good game and was my man of the match.

Roll on Saturday........

Great game to watch if you were a neutral.

Very good performance from us tonight against a good Biggleswade team who played to there strengths, particularly Effiongs strength !

For me only one player had a sub standard game, everyone else played excellently. Ryan Hope did very well tonight especially considering he was a late change for Sears, him and Webb did really well wining the ball back and keeping it for us tonight.

Fraser and Dhillon were excellent tonight and kept Burnett and Daniel quiet and for me there performance was encapsulated in one play when Biggleswade went on a 2-2 break with Merson and Effiong, with Effiong running with the ball down the middle and merson providing an option out wide Fraser and Dhillon closed Effiong down and closed the passing channel to Merson with Fraser winning the ball off Effiong who was twice his size.

Hollis and Hicks were in fine form tonight and stopped Biggleswade creating any clear shooting opportunities, in particular Hicks who cut out numerous passes.

It was great to see Ed Smith desperate to come on and get his goal and a well taken goal it was.

Tough to pick a MotM tonight as it could easily go to several players. I would give it to Putman for delivering plenty of great crosses and creating chances but it could easily have gone to Webb, Hicks, Hollis or Fraser.

Also good to keep a clean sheet tonight.

I thought we were at it from the first minute to the last tonight, really good performance which we dominated and maybe should have had a few more goals. It was an excellent team performance but I think a special mention to Ryan Hope, coming in at short notice had an absolute blinder, showing superb work rate and an exquisite range of passing we don't often see from a Slough midfielder. We were a pleasure to watch tonight.

I agree with virtually all of the above.

We were the better team and deserved the win.

It shows our improvement as a team compared to the start of the season although we still tend to give away chances to opponents when we play ourselves into trouble.

Would like to see charlie mpi and Ed start next game.

Looking forward to Saturday.

Typical Rebels v Waders, excellent football played and plenty of chances created.

We looked really up for this game from the start creating lot chances in the first half with Putts in superb form.

How it stayed 0-0 at half time is a mystery and really should have been at least a couple of goals to the good.

Strong second half from us and two well taken goals from Ed Smith and Charlie Mpi to secure the points.

Excellent performance from everyone and 3 well deserved points.

I think we need to be a bit careful with Ed Smith and would start with Mpi and Strutton on Saturday.

Very good performance! I was pleased for Ryan Hope he strikes me as a very good lad and has been in and out, looks a good player. With rummy away a lot in the remaining time he is with us, I can't see how he can play over a developing hope! Very demoralising to him if that happens... Not saying that's why managers are doing after tonight obviously, got the feeling that was the case before though.

Well done all, great and very important win to keep us on the upper side of midtable in a congested league
