I think the first pro player who played for the rebels was Phil Beal the centre back from Spurs.

Tommy Langley from Chelsea was a top player for us.

Vic Akers a defensive player for us has been a big part of Arsenal over the years was always on the bench with arsene Wenger was also manager of there ladies team.

I did a post in the wee small hours of the morning which appears to have disappeared into the ether: I recall Southampton scored 8 goals (?). Their goalie Tim Flowers left his gloves behind and I rendezvoused with him the following morning in a Chalvey lay-by  near J6 of the M4. The gloves were tatty and well used (although not well used the previous day!). Clearly "lucky gloves". I checked the stats - he played for England 11 times conceding 6 goals. I am turning into an insomniac anorak!
