FF News
Macclesfield Town keeper Shwan Jalal believes that the onus is on Wrexham to get a result in Saturday’s match as the two sides meet in a battle to reach the National League’s play-off places. The goalkeeper has currently made 20 league appearances in his debut season with Macclesfield Town and is excited for this weekend’s clash with the Welsh club. Jalal, who has one international cap for Iraq, said: “We’ve got to look forward to Wrexham and try to carry the run on. “We’ve got to go there and stick to our game plan which we’ve been working on in training. “The difference is with Wrexham there’s more pressure on them because they’ve invested heavily in the squad in the summer and that’s on them to get the win and maybe get promoted. “So we’re going there full of confidence but we’ve got to go there and do a job and we can’t take anything for granted.” John Askey has shuffled the defence around in recent weeks with Dan Cowan and Neill Byrne coming into the fold. Despite having mostly the same players making up the team’s back four throughout the season, Jalal has praised the lads that have broken into the starting 11. “The lads in front were great. I made a couple of saves but more clean sheets the better. “George Pilkington got injured and Byrne came back in and did a great job. “We’ve got a great squad and anybody can come in and do well,” he said.
