Epsom & Ewell

Right. Eyesight still bleary through celebrations following the annhilation of the Stevenage boys team last night, but my thoughts are turning to the weekend. We have got the no-hopers of the division, with only one league victory under their belts all season coming to Stag Meadow. We easily defeated them 4-1 on the opening day of the season at their shared ground in Banstead. Clearly nothing but a win, and a good win, will be acceptable.

Looking at the other fixtures, six of the other top ten teams face each other, with Croydon Ath playing Whyteleafe, Staines hosting Lewes and Windsor travelling to Worthing. Therefore its an opportunity to close up on other teams or climb above them. Currently we lie 8th and theoretically, with results going our way we could be in 5th on saturday evening.

Get the points against Epsom and then there are two crucial away matches against Marlow and Ashford, who we failed to impress against at Stag Meadow, picking up a paltry 1 point from 6. The target has to be win these next three games to go into the Windsor game on a high and in a more secure league position. We may be only 3 points behind 5th with games in hand, but also just 2 points ahead of Bracknell in 14th who have a game in hand on ourselves.

Those of us who turned out for the Presidents Cup final were in great voice. Same again on Saturday and I'm sure the boys will cruise home, though it probably means Matt Miller won't score again <img src="/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" />

Taking a rest from long train journies to go and see Whitehawk at home in the FA Vase 3rd round, so good luck to the Rebels.

Lewes have got Weymouth at home in the next round of the Trophy and i'm jealous....
