Big J R
I'm somewhat surprised that nobody has commented on the horrific murders by ILS in Paris over the weekend. Tonights football friendly against France will be a tribute against terrorism and will give support to France.

cup of tea
Well done Big JR for starting this off. I think these people need to stop hiding behind religion as justification for these evil deeds. It's just mindless destruction - we cannot allow the freedoms that we've fought so hard to gain to be taken away from us.
romford boy
The big question is probably unanswerable but we need to find a way to stop, or possibly contain ISIS. I would imagine its almost impossible to bomb ISIS out of existence because for every one we kill,it will just inspires even more impressionable Muslims to commit to their murderous regime. Its unlikely a political leader from the so called civilised world would be able to negotiate a satisfactory peace with them, although a neutral intermediary might, although that's probably also doomed to fail. Perhaps one solution might be to let them have some of the territory they have already destroyed and now control, and build a cast iron curtain around it so no-one will ever be allowed to leave. Hopefully then in one or two generations time there will be a popular uprising when they understand returning to the dark ages is most definitely not the recipe for a better life. cup of tea
Agree with bombing, you will be just making Martyrs to the cause out of them. To be honest, it's military intervention in the Middle East that has accelerated these troubles in the first place (Iraq comes to mind). Negotiation - Think we're a long way from being able to negotiate with IS, look how long it took in Northern Ireland and as abhorrent as the IRA's actions were, they were probably going to be much easier to negotiate with than IS. The one country that could make a difference and have an impact in my opinion would be Saudi Arabia but how motivated would they be to take a direct lead on these issues. Own state, possibly but if you give ISIS their own state, I think they will look to expand their empire so they can spread the word. Like I said before, I believe that religion is just a smokescreen/excuse for them.
cup of tea
Sounds like the mastermind of the Paris attacks was killed in that police raid then. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/mastermind-paris-attacks-died-police-raid-prosecutor-003938504.html;_ylt=AwrC1C2P0k1WfAkABV3QtDMD;_ylu=X3oDMTByOHZyb21tBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzcg--
