Curtis
I've just watched both episodes of the Class of 92 on catch up..... they said on there they have 20 dedicated volunteers (which must have included bar, catering and ground staff). So if we currently have 10 (without bar, catering or our own ground) how many more volunteers do the club require, and for what specific roles? Sir Rebel1965
EpicRebel - having witnessed your rants and attacks on here would I want to volunteer now?
Graham Cox
Anyway good luck to Salford................if an equivalent group of Chelsea players offered to do the same at Slough, we would probably be pleased..............oh , I forgot, they probably dont have five that speak English !!! epicrebel
Were have I attacked anyone????? read the posts again. Nearly all of what I've said was at people who don't come to games. The only bit was "it's all our jobs to get more to games" To answer Stuntman, at least 3 new faces and they've joined the Trust and got loads of stuff from Sue. Insurance once a year (also if an accident) , meetings as said about once every 2-3 months, Christmas cards for junior members 5ish (of which 4 are my family)
3spirit
I'm not looking to turn, what started out as a very good thread about the Salford situation, into squabbling about our precious club but I do wonder where it states that anyone who comes to watch Slough Town FC, has to do anything voluntary for the club. The definition of 'voluntary' as offered in the Oxford Dictionary is 'something done; or able to act of one's own free will; unpaid; to offer a free service. ' Anyone with a conscience and half a brain, appreciate those who give their time freely for the club. I know I do but as Stuntman Mark has so eloquently stated, it's not for everyone and is not compulsory ! As he said some of the volunteer jobs around the club are better than others and some jobs are just not everybody's 'cup of tea'. Press ganging people into anything is the wrong way of getting people to help. Knowing a cross section of Slough fans, that I have got to know through watching the club, I think that nearly all of them would help the club out, if need be and it fitted in well with their daily lives. Good will is still around the club, regardless of what has been inferred. EpicRebel, here's a suggestion if the Trust Secretary's job is so appealing, why don't you do it and let someone else be the kit man, or combine the two. After all if 4 of the 5 Junior members are for your family, we may be able to cut the budget and instead of spending out the cost of 4 Xmas cards, we could send out one ! You see we can all make silly suggestions.
