3spirit
Please could anyone tell me what the name of the song/music, and who plays it, that Slough have been running out to? It's a jaunty samba number which England fans band may have used.
Matt
If I'm thinking of the right one, it's called Carnival de Paris and was the official song for the 1998 World Cup.

3spirit
Cheers Matt and Epic Reb, for putting it up. Like the drumming bit best but it does make me laugh. Must try and get it ! Tickles me that we have this up beat number and usually just before it, we get Matt Monro singing ' The Impossible Dream' song. Talk about chalk and cheese ! I thought Kidderminster Harriers had a great walk out song when they did the Thunderbirds Theme tune beginning with the 5.....4.....3.....2....1 Thunderbirds are go ! but I rather like our ' Carnival De Paris' ! 3spirit
Should be billy idol rebel yell imho. Perhaps we could have this and 'Rebel Rebel' by David Bowie and I think 'Three Lions/Football's Coming home' by Baddiel and Skinner and Lightning Seeds would be good [not relevant to the club but stirring] and perhaps get a couple of songs from the players choices and maybe one from the management team, before Carnival De Paris. Something to ponder on for the new ground, maybe? Thinking of the management team that sit on the bench matchdays 'Special Brew' by Bad Manners may be a good one ! Meaning a great combination [plus Buster Bloodvessel/lead singer lookalikes Unders/Betsy with Bakes and Trents supplying the fun] ! ha ha ha ! Graham Cox
In view of our joint managers maybe it could be BAKER street by Gerry Rafferty and The Herd song From the UNDERWOOD"................actually it was Underworld but it's nearly the same !!!! Big J R
I understand that Sepp Blatter wants to commission a leaving FIFA tune. Suggestions anyone ??
Ian
Yes, it's Carnival de Paris. I started with different songs at the start of the season and changed it when we lost! I quite like Carnival De Paris as it's quite upbeat but I'm happy to play whatever people want. The others I tried were Parklife, Rebel Rebel, Beautiful Day (U2), Cum on Feel the Noize (Slade), Fiesta (The Pogues). As for 'The Impossible Dream' I'm not sure how that sneaked onto the Rebels playlist and it's gone now. But, Stuart, it was Andy Williams not Matt Monro. David Carpenter
Just for a bit of fun can anyone remember the theme music that was used at the start of each World Cup broadcast in 1998? It is by a French composer and falls into the classical genre. I will give 1 drink for the first correct answers posted on here - composers name and title of the piece - 1drink for each answer. By 1 drink I of course mean a pint or a short/wine etc. not a bottle!

I've got the Matt Monro version at home, that's why I'm confused ! ha ha. The other 5 you mentioned are all good. Here's 5 others to liven up proceedings, in this order, 'Ballroom Blitz' by Sweet, 'Baba O'Riley' by The Who, ' I Gotta Feeling' by The Black Eyed Peas, 'Ace Of Spades' by Motorhead and 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us' by Sparks. The last title is very apt for two teams battling it out, me thinks !
