Enfield Town v Leighton Town FA Trophy 1st Round

Following our North London derby with Hendon, Town return to cup action this Saturday, when we host Bedfordshire side Leighton Town at the Queen Elizabeth 11 Stadium, in the FA Trophy 1st Round.

Leighton play in the Evo-Stick Southern League, Central Division, where they are currently 18th in the table. Since the end of August, Leighton have won two and lost ten of their matches, in all competitions.

In the previous round of the FA Trophy, our visitors achieved an excellent away win in Surrey, beating Carshalton Athletic 2-0.

After our disappointing FA Cup exit at Chesham last Saturday, Brad and the boys will be more than keen to make amends this Saturday, with a stellar performance to clinch our place in the next round of this prestigious competition.

This is a key match for our Club, with a good financial reward for the winners, so we need plenty of local support to help our guys secure a much needed victory.

Good luck everyone.

Not long now to the start of our FA Trophy campaign tomorrow.

The weather forecast is mild and dry this weekend, so hopefully we will get a decent crowd. Spurs don't play until Monday evening, so a great chance for Tottenham fans to sample some non-league cup action.

Be very interested to hear your thoughts on team selection, crowd attendance, and score prediction for this match?

Always enjoy my visits to the QE11 Stadium, and when Town win the 100 mile journey home always seems that much shorter. Yesterday, Town didn't disappoint, against lower league opposition, and won this Cup-tie with ease and plenty to spare. Town were in dominant mood right from the start, and completely out-played, and out-classed, the opposition. It was a very one-sided match, and if Town had put away all their chances, they could quite easily have run up a cricket score!

Credit to Leighton Town, they battled away and gave their all, but they rarely threatened the Town goal and only had one decent shot on goal throughout the whole match.

Well done to Brad and our players who did what needed to be done. Let's hope the next round draw is kind to us, and we give a good account of ourselves at Kingstonian tomorrow evening, in what is certain to be a very close match.

Not a lot to say about the game to be fair, it was men against boys and when we scored the first, I was convinced that we would score ten and I was disappointed that we didn't. The best thing to come out of the match was that we didn't get any injuries and Jander Da Cruz was a lot more reassuring in his play than he has been in his previous appearances.

A pity as the team were still playing for him.
