Chesham - league cup

Recommended Posts

I think Chesham are trying to hide their defeat to Slough on their website, with no mention of the win on Twitter or their forum and only one line from Andy Leese in his squad update on their website.

Considering how many times they've beaten us over the years, I would say they are acting like bad losers and are very unsporting, and that's putting it politely !

I know it's only the league cup but I'd really like us to have a run in at least one of the cups, particularly if it's another season of consolidation in the league. It would be nice to see Slough in the hunt for some silverware.

Good performance and in the end beat a very average Chesham - is this what they have sunk too under their new manager.

Not sure if I would have taken it as another game in the cup, or preferred it as 3 points in the league.

Rebel1965, what new manager? Andy Leese has been there years.

Personally I don't think Chesham were a very average team.

I think it was simply that on the night Chesham were well beaten by a much better team.

If Chesham beat Enfield and make it to the 1st round of the FA Cup on 24th Oct then it wouldn't surprise me if they use at least some of the proceeds to mount a play-off place challenge.

Speaking to Brian McCarthy he said he wanted to spend the majority on the ground and a bit on the team....mind he was planning on an away tie at Sheffield Utd. Personally I hope Enfield give them a stuffing.

Personally, I hope they beat Enfield, because I think it would be interesting to see if a play-off challenge can be achieved with your own ground, on average attendances of around 300, in our area, and a bit of reasonable fortune with the FA Cup draw..... Chesham will have played Aylesbury, Paulton Rovers, North Leigh and Enfield, all level 7 and 8 clubs, if they reach the 1st round.
