Chesham - league cup

Recommended Posts

Seems Chesham have gone through a similar spell of losing games and have now turned the corner in winning some like us, by bringing some new players in.

Andy Leese said in a newspaper interview, a few games ago that he doesn't want to settle for his team to be a 10th to 16th side. Perhaps his budget and the time Chesham have been in the Southern Premier division dictates where he thinks his team must be.

Tonight's game has little riding on it, pity it wasn't a league game as I can't wait to beat them in an important match for once, especially after that lousy comment the Chesham manager made to Mark Scott, when coming off injured in our away fixture with them.

Even though tonight's game is less of a priority for us,it would be rather nice to beat them but I think we will have our work cut-out to do so, given that they look like they are going to bring a strong squad, where we need to rest some of ours.

Oh well, you never know............?

won 3-0 with several of our starting eleven not playing.

It was very comfortable for us in the end, we didn't have to play anywhere near our best to win.

S Harris score the first with a header after a great bit of play from Hope? and Fraser to get behind the Chesham defence and put in a great cross. Gokmen got the second after chasing down the defender and winning the ball before putting it past the keeper and heading it in on the line. Strutton score the last and to be honest I can't remember exactly how it went in, as the second half was like watching a friendly as we were so comfortable, I had switched off.

I thought the game was very enjoyable especially as we've waited a long time to beat Chesham and tonight we smashed them and beat them convincingly. Well done to all the players, if we play with the same desire we will win more games than we lose.

Good debut for Justin Clayton regardless of his early booking. My man of the match was Scott Harris but I thought Ryan Hope ran him close by being energetic and hard-working without being spectacular.

No Slough player had a bad game and for once we dominated Chesham and were deserved winners.

What a difference the team now look, to that woeful team that scrapped past Bideford, a few games ago.

Let's hope Paulton Rovers will be the next in line for a tough time Saturday !

A really enjoyable game to watch.

The early stages were even until we scored and then we looked the better and most likely side to go on and win the game.

With the missed chances towards the end we really could have scored 5 or 6.

Some impressive performances from the players tonight with our work-rate and commitment top draw.

Stand out players for me were Dan Hicks, Justin Clayton and Ryan Hope with Ryan Hope my MOTM.

Well done to all the players on a very good performance giving a real selection headache for our Managers ahead of Saturday's game.

COYR!!
