New ground

Most probably as someone rightly says the council will want to recoup their outlay. Which also means the name of the ground will no doubt be sponsored if they can find one. In an ideal world we'd own and run the stadium but we can't be fussy and to play back in Slough in what it seems will be a lovely modern stadium with terracing and cover on all sides plus room to expand no true fan can't be happy with that.

Well surely I would hope that's a given! Along with what we currently get (programme/raffle/advertising/sponsorship). The big question is what if any cut we get of bar/catering at the new ground? Obviously we can't hire out any of the rooms but maybe we'd get a nice discount for the hire if we hold any events there.

You would like to think so.

Not sure how they would work a 'cut of bar/catering'.

I would imagine the catering will be done by an outside company.

I have no doubt that Steve Easterbrook will be working very hard in the background and at meetings he has with the council, to secure the very best deal in the interests of the club that he can.

Its a good healthy debate to speculate on colours of seats and ground names etc and these items I'm sure will be on Steve's list of would like to have.

I feel certain that as soon as these and other issues are sorted for absolute definite (remember we are talking about the council here....) that Steve will announce it to the fans.

slightly off topic but are we likely to get new shirt designs for next season to move into the new ground? The home shirt got changed at the start of this season and the MYFC purple away shirt for 3 seasons now.

I think it could well be MYFC's last season sponsoring us, is so something will have to change with regards to the away shirt.

I've just realised that the start of the new season is only about 21 weeks away.... was the intended completion for the start of the season, or earlier for a few pre-season matches?

I think the deadline set was for the start of the season. I suppose it'll be a bonus if it's ready earlier.

It would be great if it's ready earlier than scheduled and we could get a friendly against a big team to officially open the stadium.

It would be good if each side of the ground had a name affiliated after it, possibly split between the two chairmen that kept Slough Town FC going through the 'wilderness' years when we didn't have a ground and maybe two honary supporters who have been inspirational ie the Steve Easterbrook Stand and the Martin Deaner Stand.

The Stands for supporters have plenty worthy candidates both living and deceased who have given to the club ie Chris Siliski, Dave Piercy, Richard 'Ollie' Hayward, Kevin McGoldrick, Alan Harding, John Tebbit,

etc etc..................

What do others think?

Yes not sure how popular Mr Deaner really was? No denying he ploughed a lot of money into the club though. As no decision has been made regarding the seat colour I do hope they choose our colours, as it's supposed to be our new home and the main reason why this stadium is being built.
