Great news for you Slough Lads and Lassies.

 

In 'Central Leafy Surrey', it seems that Mole Valley's District Council have decided to once again extend their plans for Meadowbank, forcing yet another year of groundsharing for Dorking F.C. due to moving the Council goal-posts again and leaving the Surrey F.A. to have to find a short-term solution to their move to Meadowbank.

 

No surprise there then !!!!

But what great news for STFC. I thought the new ground was going to cots 8 million, not 12 million. Or does that include all the other facilities. SBC seem to absolutely rubbish at controling what they spend.

I think Phase 1 was c£8m  )St. Joseph playing fields, 3 sides of the ground, 3G pitch etc.) and the 2nd phase (main stand and associated facilities) c£4m. Most large projects will have inflation index built in depending on the time period.

Reading the Council meeting notes it seems the Council have secured a fixed price with Morgan Sindall for the CSF.

Thanks Reading Rebel. Morgan Sindall will have fixed the price because the short term nature of the contract would allow for this. Longer Contracts under the older terms of contract were based on price indices which allowed for inflation hence the apparent increase from base cost.

I keep hearing that the colour of the seating in our new ground is going to be red.

 

Is there any problem or reason why they can't be amber and blue?

Never heard that RR who told you that? Why would they spend all these millions on this stadium then put the wrong colours in! I can only guess Red as that's the colour of the council logo but it would be daft not to put Amber or Navy Blue or a combination? I know we can't be picky as the club isn't paying for it but hopefully common sense will prevail...

Just a few people I've spoke to at games. One might have been Horsham Rebel or rebelade but can't be sure.

It's a community sports stadium rather than just our ground so I'd guess that would have something to do with it. Presuming we won't be the only tenants as the council look to make the money back on the outlay.

I was going to put something about us being the only tenants at Arbour Park but on second thoughts it was probably a bit stupid to think that?
