New ground

It doesn't matter what the council name it officially, we as supporters and a club can call it whatever we want.

Just like west hams Boleyn Ground which was usually called Upton Park by their supporters.

Well going with that theme it's gonna have masses of names then if we all choose personal favourites! Why should we care what it's called its a brand new stadium with no history that we don't own? On the other hand had Wexham Park been renamed Twix Park...

I'm almost certain we will have no say in naming the stadium.

It's pretty much always been referred to as Arbour Park so I can see no reason why the council will not name it something like the Arbour Park Community Stadium.

Only been called Arbour Park in recent years, since the Arbour school took over from the Orchard School.

For many years before that it was always called the Orchard as before any school buildings were put there, there was an Orchard there. Hence the new school (as it was way back then) was named the Orchard school.

So, it was called Orchard for 100's of years, Arbour Vale for a few years.

People have forgotten or didn't know it used to be the Orchard.

It will be the same in another 20 years. People will only know it by what it is called to them, whatever that maybe.

Glen it was renamed from Wexham Park to The Park, I still call it Wexham Park. The history of the new ground is/was All the fields in that area for 100 years or so was Cherry Orchards. Hence 1) The Orchard School 2) Orchard Allotments 3) The Cherries Park 4) The Cherry Pickers ect.

I presume it's more 'red tape' and paperwork that's needed to be overcome once handed over? Hopefully those 2 weeks are enough time to get the stadium opened for that fixture as you'd hope the crowd would be 1,000+ (annoyed I'll miss it though!).

As you know, I've been following your new ground with interest.

Yesterdays local paper gave DFC and Dorking Wanderers more good news from the local Council.

For those of you who follow developments in Home County Clubs:-
