The original timetable produced by Slough Council was only ever meant to be an indicative timetable and as far as the club are concerned everything is progressing in a timely fashion and we are currently unaware of anything major which will, or may, delay the project beyond the original target dates.

When has any large project at any place of work gone exactly to the initial GANTT chart dates set out ?

In my 35 years in IT I can honestly count the ones in my companies on one hand (out of thousands of projects). Most of those then finished at the correct project deadline.

 

Yes, that is IT, but all industries are the same when it comes to delays with dates that are written on a "piece of paper" at the Initiation Phase.

Its a total non story. Contractors have an end date they will work to, that's the important one, not the start.

3G pitch and all buildings and stands etc., supposed to be in place for next season.

 

I won't even dare comment on the actual amount of work that has been done so far.  My spies tell me that a 'problem' has been found after removing the old pitch, allegedly !!!!

I'm guessing they're still doing prep work. Would be useful to have an actual construction start date even if it's just the month It'll start in!

After the delay of the planned start date at the beginning of October it was announced by the Council that construction would hopefully start early November.

 

It would be nice if we could be kept up to date by those 'in the know'.

The building of the new ground should of started a couple of months ago ready for next season but there are more delays and it does.nt sound good for them.

in construction there is rarely any clauses for start time but genaraly there are penalties for late finishing so you can bet your bottom dollar that though a late start they will nearly always finish on time.

But every week that passes makes it more unlikely it'll be finished on time! We're all trying to be patient but the lack of information is frustrating, would like to think actual construction will start before the end of this year...
