New ground

The 16th has always been a hand over date and not a start playing date, and it was communicated as such since the start.

I'm sure there are a lot of things in place by all parties to make it as short a period as possible between handover and actually playing.

The main thing is WE HAVE A GROUND IN SLOUGH AT LAST :yay: whether our first game is on 16th, 20th, 23rd, 27th or 29th August or slightly beyond (These dates are purely due to the fact they fall on potential match days)

It's likely we'll play our first home game at Arbour Park by the end of August or early September and I think after waiting 13 years we can wait an extra few weeks! Have a feeling we'll play one last time at SYCOB... and I don't mean the friendly!

Just had a look at the details, and am very pleased for Dorking F.C. one of our traditional rivals back in the Corinthian League and more recently Isthmian League. 3 years in exile seems like a pin prick compared to our 13 years though!

None of this should ever happen given the amount of money in the game at the top level, but it still goes on, look at Abingdon Town..............

Going back to the sponsored/personalised brick idea, I know Steve reads this forum just wondered what the chances are of this or something similar happening as its something I feel very strongly about and would love to leave a memory for my dad as I'm sure many others would.

With the ground almost finished and the new season only a few weeks away the personalised bricks question along with the other questions in this thread i.e. named stands, will the club benefit from bar takings etc hopefully will be answered very shortly.

It seems we will benefit from the catering as it looks like we will be responsible for doing it.

Surely all monies spent on each and every home game would go to the club, otherwise what's the point.

It's because we don't own the ground so can't dictate. It appears we've agreed to run the catering kiosk so obviously we'll profit from that so that'll be a decent earner. Although not sure if we have full control in terms of buying stock and keeping all money? We may just have agreed to man it. I wonder how the bar set up will operate this season, as it'll be temporary and not a proper built bar.

We only got to hear about the catering because the club have asked for a volunteer cook.

So many questions remain unanswered.
