New ground

Went past the ground yesterday and couldn't see a lot, all I can say is it looked like all the floodlights were up and it looked like some sort of tannoy system was attached to one of the floodlights.

Let's hope it's a better tannoy system than sycob's !

It works okay if you are in the main stand but if you're not, you're treated to what sounds like someone talking through a hankerchief into a microphone or the dulcet tones of intermittent stuttering/ Norman Collier impressions ! ha ha !

Looking at Bakes Tweet this morning showing (what I take as the main stand) with the Amber seats (which is great to see), the stand looks 5 rows deep before you hit the back of the stand. However, all the pics I have seen to date of the 'main stand' look steeper with a glass window behind. Am I looking / thinking of the wrong stand or has the design changed?

This is the stand on the far side and not the main stand, the main stand will not be finished until end of phase 2!

This allows us to start playing step 3 football.

Cheers Bakes.

So I am not reading this incorrectly, the seating on the 'far' side are not just put in temporarily to allow us to play step 3 football 'until' the main stand is built?

I assume these seats on the far side will remain once the main stand is built, giving us seating on both sides of the pitch?

Side note, just had our bathroom fitted out by ex-Slough player Adam Wallace this week.

What I said was that the facility would be handed over to the council on the 16th then other things would probably need to happen before we can start playing there. My understanding is that this includes things like ground grading and safety certificates and other such things.

As it would appear the new ground is not available for the start of the season, does anybody know what the arrangements are for the home matches at the beginning of the season?

Will we be requesting that we switch the matches and play the away match (if the opening match is home to Frome, would we request to switch it to away, and play the home match later in the season) or will we be playing them at Beaconsfield, or have we advised the league fixture secretary and requested the first three or four matches as away matches?

Bought a season ticket so getting excited about the start of the season now.

For some reason our new ground has always been scheduled to be completed on the 16th August when the new season actually starts a week or so earlier.

As far as we know construction of the new stadium is ahead of schedule.

It seems from ARAAS that two of the major sticking points for the new ground to actually be up and running on the 16th August is the ground grading and safety certificates.

If the new ground is completed ahead of schedule or near as dammit, is there any reason why the ground grading and safety certificates can't be done in advance of the 16th?

By the 16th of August we will most likely have played 3 matches. We can ask the league to schedule us 2 of those 3 away from home but not all three, however we might be able to come to an agreement with the club we are scheduled to play at home to tow switch out fixtures with them. I.e when we should play them at home we play them away and when we play them away we play them at home.

This could give us three away fixtures to start the season but nothing is guarenteed.

In terms of safety certificate, it can't be granted until the ground is completed and meets the requirement. However, we might be able to get a check done before completion to get a provisional agreement for the safety certificate which could be granted as soo as the ground is finished and would thus need less time to be granted.

If the ground is not ready / doesn't have a safety certificate in time an arrangement is already in place with SYCOB to play games there.
