New ground

As far as we know a temporary bar will be in place for supporters and other people to enjoy until phase 2 of the facility has been built.

Again, as far as we know once phase 2 has been built the bar will move to the upstairs area.

A couple of questions:

What access will wheelchair users have to the upstairs area?

What will the vacated downstairs bar area be used for?

Would it be a better idea to have two bars, using the upstairs area as a bar/function/viewing area and then keeping the downstairs bar in place for supporters to use at home games?

It had already been said that there would be temporary facilities in place until phase 2 is finished.

As the word is temporary I would imagine that whatever arrangement is in place for that period, it would be taken away once the phase 2 is finished.

Just read back the council's cabinet report on the CSF project dated July 2015 which seems to answer my questions.

It seems that in phase 2 a lift will be built.

It also seems that an extension is being built which is attached to the 4 court sports hall on the far side of the ground and will be the temporary hospitality/directors facility.

I can't see any indication of what will happen to that extension once phase 2 is built.

It seems within a week or two the pitch and 3 stands will be complete. Good to see both end stands appear to be the whole width of the pitch, hopefully a great atmosphere can be generated in there! Wondering aside from changing rooms what else will be complete in the ground floor of the main stand? As mentioned some type of bar must be provided?

Stadium solutions have estimated that the stands, turnstiles, dugouts etc are estimated to be completed towards the end of July.

According to the council report phase 1 will include washing facilities (assume they mean toilets), first aid and physiotherapy rooms and a ticket office.

I was lucky enough to visit the site this morning.  A few things from what we were told:

- The pitch is laid and the lines are being put on it as we speak

- The temporary bar and kitchen will be included in the ground floor which has been built for phase one

- Once the bar and kitchen have moved upstairs (with large bar area which can be divided into rooms, there will be space for a shop on the ground floor

- 250 seats are bring built into the stand on the opposite side to the main stand.  These are not being moved or taken out when the 275 or so seats are put in on the side of the main stand

- The roof on each stand is being made from a material designed to dampen the noise of rain for those trying to make noise underneath (apparently!)

- The seats are going to be a very suitable dark yellow/amber colour!

Sounds good Guys.

As far as I am aware, there is still no sign of movement at Meadowbank !

Just to confirm ARAAS, will the bar and kitchin initially be on the ground floor of the main stand or in the extension by the side of the 4 court sports hall?

Great news that we will eventually have over 500 seats.

Being a bit picky but why couldn't we have a mixture of blue and amber to make it a perfect finish?

Just to follow up Dan's report - yes all looking good. The drainage placed under the pitch is at very close centres and the intrinsic ground water level is not an issue. Allowance within the layout for future longitudinal extensions etc. Really exiting.

I'll take your word for that Dave
