B378
First goal an excellent first time finish from Max Webb in the first half. Half time scoreline Colliers Wood 0-1 Ashford. Colliers Wood got an equaliser early in the second half. Samad was brought down in the box for a penalty. Alex Fisher dispatched it to make it 1-2 and that's how it finished. manurgrate
A good game of football played on an excellent pitch. The Wood have some very lively forwards and so our defence did very well to restrict them to one goal. Max scored a long range effort with their keeper stranded, they equalised after their centre forward was allowed too much time and space in the box to level. The match was decided by the linesman awarding a penalty for a foul on Samad, whose pace had been causing Wood's defence problems all night. Wood were upset by the decision, I was surprised that it was given but not close enough to be sure either way( neither was the ref!). Alex dispatched the penalty with confidence and we didn't look like losing after that. The ref had a good game generally,he wasn't prepared to tolerate any dissent, he appeared to book Ben or someone in our dugout after he had controversially not played an advantage when Jack was one on one with their keeper. It is good to be back on track after this losing steak.
fatboyatmfc
I prefer my steak cooked medium/well rather than losing....... Definite pen! took samads legs away from the side before getting the ball. Can't understand why it wasn't a red card as it was deep in the area as Sammy was about to pull the trigger. Ref lost it after making what is the third non advantage we have suffered. This one being the most blatant !
